“That’s Absurd”: Fetterman Fires Back after AOC Accuses Him of “Bullying” for “Jerry Springer” Comment [WATCH]

In one of the wilder and more disappointing congressional moments so far this century, one perhaps outweighed only by Rep. Hank Johnson thinking Guam would “tip over and capsize” if too many soldiers and sailors were stationed on it, Reps. MTG, AOC, and Crockett had a snappy shouting match during a House Oversight Committee meeting. Sen. Fetterman said the scene was an absurd one reminiscent of the Jerry Springer show, a comment AOC said was “bullying,” and Fetterman just fired back at her.

Sen. Fetterman, as background, said, after the incident in which the three female representatives had a wild fight, “In the past, I’ve described the U.S. House as The Jerry Springer Show. Today, I’m apologizing to The Jerry Springer Show.”

Rep. AOC then angrily attacked him on X with a wild post in which she bizarrely accused him of not being sufficiently against “racism and misogyny” and suggested that he had become a “bully.” She began by saying, “I understand you likely would not have stood up for your colleague and seem to be confused about racism and misogyny being a “both sides” issue.”

Continuing, she said, “But I stand up to bullies, instead of becoming one.” She then suggested that Sen. Fetterman doesn’t stand up for “the women of Pennsylvania,” writing, “And to the women of Pennsylvania: I’d stand up for you too.” She concluded by saying, “Enjoy your Friday.”

Sen. Fetterman then fired back when speaking with CNN’s Jake Tapper during an interview, saying that her contention that he was bullying her with his post on X was “absurd” and that he was calling out the unbecoming chaos of the hearing. He said, “That’s absurd. I was just simply responding to the kind of chaos and everything that Representative Greene started as well.”

Continuing, he said that people are entitled to their opinions, but that childish behavior is childish behavior. He said, “And if everyone on the committee was proud of what they’ve produced, they’re entitled to their opinion. Or if they feel that this is the kind of video that you want to send to a classroom of eighth grade civics kind of students across America, again, that’s their choice.”

The incident that sparked the fiery exchange began when Rep. Crockett asked Rep. MTG, “Do you know what we’re here for?” MTG fired back, “I think your fake eyelashes are messing up what you’re reading.” House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer pleaded for order as the committee groaned with annoyance at the nonsense.

Undeterred, Rep. AOC jumped into the fray and snapped, “I do have a point of order, and I would like to move to take down Ms. Green’s words. That is absolutely unacceptable. How dare you attack the physical appearance of another person… move her words down.” MTG said, “Are your feelings hurt?” and AOC fired back, “Oh girl, baby girl! Don’t even play!”
