Recently, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton accused the Biden administration of colluding with drug cartels to smuggle illegal immigrants into the United States. Paxton appeared on Steven Bannon’s “War Room,” where he made the accusations against President Biden.
Bannon addressed Paxton’s claims, noting that it is a “tough charge” to make such an assertion. “When we say working with the cartels, that’s a pretty tough charge. I mean, you’re you are the Attorney General of the State of Texas, one of the notches biggest, most most important states in the union or economic powerhouse. You did you just accuse the Biden administration of working with the cartels,” said Bannon.
The Texas attorney general responded to Bannon, clarifying that while there isn’t tangible proof that the Biden administration is directly colluding with cartels, the United States border has, in essence, become a “processing arm” for the illegal smuggling operations. Paxton stated that, when looking at outcomes, one could conclude that the current administration is “partnering” with criminal organizations.
“There may not be a written document that says that but in fact, yes, that’s exactly what they’re doing. They have turned our border into a place where the cartels know that they can basically drop people off. And they’re not trying to hide anymore. I mean, under all other administrations, they used to hide you know, they try to sneak across for now, it comes straight to Border Patrol, and we’re like a processing arm for the cartels. The cartels get paid per person by and they make a lot of money on each person. And so the Biden administration is effectively no matter how you want to slice this, they are partnering with the cartel to get people into our country as fast as possible.”
Paxton has consistently criticized the Biden administration for its lack of action surrounding the southern border. Earlier this month, the attorney general responded to demands from the Biden administration to “cease and desist” securing the southern border with Mexico.
The Texas AG slammed Biden for ignoring the border state’s dire circumstances and refusing to take action at the federal level. He asserted that Texas will continue to fight the Biden administration legally for the autonomy to defend its border amid the failures of the executive branch.
“Rather than addressing Texas’s urgent requests for protection, President Biden has authorized DHS to send a threatening letter through its lawyers. But Texas has lawyers, too, and I will continue to stand up for this State’s constitutional powers of self-defense. Instead of running to the U.S. Department of Justice in hopes of winning an injunction, you should advise your clients at DHS to do their job and follow the law,” Paxton concluded.
The American Tribune reported on Texas’ defiance of the Biden administration and the Supreme Court, continuing to utilize razor wire on the southern border as a means of deterring migrants. “The Texas Military Department continues to hold the line in Shelby Park to deter and prevent unlawful entry into the State of Texas. We remain resolute in our actions to secure our border, preserve the rule of law, and protect the sovereignty of our State,” the Texas Military Department announced.
