A Tesla Cybertruck owner recently revealed the amount he has spent charging the eye-catching electric truck. Bilal Sattar took to social media explaining that he has driven his Cybertruck approximately 10,000 miles since acquiring it. In this time he has only spent spent $573.55 on charging costs. Tesla’s battery innovation is reportedly far superior to competitive EV makers, providing owners with enhanced efficiency.
For perspective, Sattar calculated that driving the same distance in a traditional gasoline-powered internal combustion engine, with an assumed fuel price of $4 per gallon, would have cost almost $2,400. Therefore, the Cybertruck’s battery efficiency provided him roughly $1,800 in fuel savings. However, Sattar does use economical modes of charging which could contribute to his savings.
For example, he reportedly uses free charging stations and solar energy capabilities to power the vehicle, preventing him from driving up his electricity bill. Notably, this may not apply to the average driver who is not able to take advantage of such perks. Many EV owners are still having to endure high charging costs due to electricity rates and a lack of free charging stations.
In other news related to Cybertrucks, The American Tribune reported during the devastating Los Angeles wildfires that Tesla founder Elon Musk would deploy a fleet of EV trucks to help with recovery efforts. Reportedly, they would be outfitted with Starlink internet services to help first responders with communication capabilities.
“Apologies to those expecting Cybertruck deliveries in California over the next few days,” the CEO of Tesla and Starlink wrote on X. “We need to use those trucks as mobile base stations to provide power to Starlink Internet terminals in areas of LA without connectivity. A new truck will be delivered end of week.” Elon added in another statement, “We are going to position Cybertrucks with Starlinks and free WiFi in a grid pattern in the areas that most need it in the greater LA/Malibu area.”
The move led Billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman to chimed with an innovative business proposal that could help mitigate the fires. “Putting out fires before they spread does not seem like a serious technological challenge in a world with @SpaceX , @xai and @anduriltech,” he said. “So [Elon Musk] and [Palmer Luckey], why don’t we start a company that uses satellites, AI, and drone technology to put out fires before they spread?”
“One can envision satellite monitoring, rapid drone investigation, and drone swarm water delivery. The number of drones sent to extinguish the fire and the nature of the extinguishing agent (water, foam, dry or wet chemicals etc) would be a function of the nature and scale of the fire,” he continued. “The No human lives would be put [at] risk and there is no risk of DEI involvement in drone selection. What do you think? I would love to invest. And it would be very good for real estate values in California.”

Musk also noted in previous comments that President Donald Trump is a “huge fan of the Cybertruck.” The billionaire said last year, “He’s very nice when he calls and, you know, in electric cars, I think we’re pretty good for the future, America’s leader in electric cars, you know, you know, by America and stuff. And I think he actually…a lot of his friends now have Tesla. He’s a huge fan of the Cybertruck…I think those may be contributing factors.”
