Tennis Star Faces Big Fine Issue for Shocking Live TV Vulgarity

Corentin Moutet, a French professional tennis player who is going viral for having a potty mouth, is now looking at a steep fine from the ATP for blasting out several f-bombs during a live television interview featured on the BBC. The scene unfolded at Queen’s Club. The interviewer, Jenny Drummond, was forced to give an apology to viewers following Moutet’s profanity, which included the “F” word said seven times during the interview.

Moutet, 27, had just beaten fellow French tennis star Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard at the HSBC Championships over the course of three sets, doing so in a match that was resumed from the previous evening. The athlete was asked about Mpetshi Perricard managing to save a match point with a second serve that hit a staggering 142 miles-per-hour.

“When he hits me at 142, I was like f**k!” Drummond then requested Moutet to avoid the use of the profanity. Moutet decided to be a jerk and replied, “F**k, f**k, f**k!” Drummond then said, “no, no, no,” before going on to apologize to viewers watching the whole debacle unfold. There were also children present at the event.

According to a report from The Daily Caller, Drummond then said, “I’m going to ask one more question so please keep it clean.” When it was time for Moutet to give his answer, he gave another round of “f**k, f**k, f**k!” Deciding on a different course of action, Drummond wisely decided to end the interview before an already bad situation got worse.

After the cameras returned to the studio, host Clare Balding also apologized to viewers at home, saying, “And just to repeat those apologies for everyone watching BBC Two and iPlayer.” Balding added, “Corentin Moutet living up to his bad-boy image. ‘Chaos makes the muses’ is what he wrote on the camera screen there. It’s a tattoo that he has as well. And, yep, chaos is what he can create.”

Moutet himself took to social media platform Instagram where he responded to a clip of the interview. “I was just joking, I hope you guys didn’t get offended. Thanks for the love.” This isn’t the first time that Moutet has gotten himself into trouble. He was previously punished by the men’s tour and his national federation for bad behavior, according to a report from the BBC.

The tennis star was defaulted from the 2022 Adelaide International for his foul mouth after he swore at the umpire after losing the second set against Serbia’s Laslo Djere. In November of the same year, The French Tennis Federation (FTT) dropped him, which means he lost his financial aid, because of similar behavior.

“We cannot condone this type of behaviour. We ask our players and coaches for an exemplary attitude,” the FFT went on to say at the time. Folks in the comment section of The Daily Caller’s story were also critical of Moutet’s filthy language and behavior. One individual wrote, “This guy is a punk. He’s a stain on tennis overall.”
