Liberal Fox News commentator Jessica Tarlov has recently faced backlash for a social media post in which she sounded off on criticism waged against the Harris-Walz campaign. As Tarlov blasted former President Donald Trump over variety and defended Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, users on social media accused her of “lying.”
Tarlov’s commentary came in response to a post on X from POLITICO Playbook, which read, “After avoiding the media for neigh on her whole campaign, Kamala Harris is … still largely avoiding the media. The VP is set for a series of interviews that likely won’t press her on tough issues, even as voters want more specifics.”
The Fox News host said, “So much pathetic criticism today Do you think Trump talks to Hannity to get to undecideds or rally the base?” She suggested the Harris-Walz campaign needs to step up its efforts on undecided voters, writing, “We need to turn out the base who…likes Call Her Daddy and Howard Stern!” Harris has only recently stepped up her media efforts after seemingly refusing to do media interviews for weeks.
Harris also claimed CBS News’ “60 Minutes” was the “gold standard” of journalism. “Andddd 60 Minutes is the gold standard and Trump won’t do it because he would be fact checked to his face,” she continued. In seeming contrast to Tarlov’s claims, CBS has faced significant backlash for editing Vice President Harris’ comments to make her sound more coherent after she delivered a word salad answer.
Tarlov further stated, “Also, as Trump and co continues to blatantly lie about FEMA’s response and Biden/Harris ignoring right leaning hurricane victims, spare me the where was Walz during Tiananmen Square or did he not fill out the right paperwork or was he actually an assistant coach bs. Congenital lying vs embellishment. Be adults!”
Users on social media disputed Tarlov’s comments accusing her of telling lies. “Jessica Tarlov is lying, the people are speaking out about the failures and so is President Trump,” one person wrote, sharing a clip of people on the ground in North Carolina giving their firsthand experiences. The testimonies were highly critical of the federal government, while praising former President Trump on his efforts in the state.
Other users criticized Tarlov’s assertion that “60 Minutes” offered the best journalistic integrity, questioning why she works for Fox News. “If 60 minutes is the gold standard and Fox hosts are so bad, then why do you work for Fox and not CBS?” another person wrote.
“Hannity is a journalist. Call Her Daddy is a sex podcast. Big difference. 60 minutes was hostile to Trump last interview. And Leslie Stahl lied. I don’t blame him,” another person said, taking issue with the comment about CBS and the “Call Her Daddy,” podcast.
“Trump won’t do 60 Minutes because they won’t apologize to him for lying about him on air to his face when they knowingly knew they were lying. But you know this because Gutfeld, the judge, and Jesse school you on this and everything else you try to push as fact about Trump when you darn well know it’s not true,” another user added.
