President Donald Trump once again showed the country that he is not a man to be trifled with after a protester decided to interrupt an event he was speaking at in Rockland County, New York, humiliating the heckler with his trademark humor by firing back, “Go home to mom” and warning others they might get “whacked.”
President Trump was speaking on the topic of transgender athletes, something he has made clear since taking office that he is absolutely against, which seemed to push the radical liberal in the crowd over the edge. Whatever the heckler yelled at the president was unintelligible in footage captured of the incident, but Trump wasted no time in responding, dismissing them with a quick wave of the hand.
“Ahh, go home to mom,” the president snapped back at the heckler. As soon as those words left his mouth, supporters in the crowd exploded into chants of “USA!” Trump followed up his first wisecrack with another, saying, “Take him home to mommy.” As security was escorting the protester out of the event, Trump called out, “Don’t hurt him! Don’t hurt him! I do that for legal reasons…Now I can say ‘I’m innocent.'”
According to a report from The Mirror, Trump later attempted to discourage his future protests at his events, saying it’s dangerous, adding, “I like things that aren’t dangerous. I don’t like to see people get whacked.” Earlier in the evening, President Trump told a story he heard from a female athlete that described a competitor at a sporting event.
“She looks to her right, and she sees six people,” Trump told the crowd. “She knows five of them, but there’s a person on her right who’s gigantic.” He continued, “She’s looking up at him. Her, excuse me, that could be the end of my political career.” Trump has been on the campaign trail stumping for Mike Lawler, a GOP congressman who is battling for reelection in what is looking to be an intense midterm fight as Republicans work to hold on to their majority in Congress.
Both Lawler and two other Republicans are defending their seats in districts that former Vice President Kamala Harris won in 2024. Lawler has worked to position himself as someone who supports President Trump and his America First agenda, putting distance between himself and moderate Republicans. Lawler believes that the president’s endorsement will aid him in galvanizing GOP voters in the district.
In 2025, while Lawler was mulling over a potential gubernatorial bid in New York, Trump issued a formal endorsement for him to run again for his seat. Some analysts believe the move on Trump’s part was to keep Lawler focused on holding on to his House seat to assist the GOP in keeping control over the lower chamber in the 2026 midterms.

Lawler recently praised President Trump and his many successes while serving the nation, saying, “Number one, the stock market continues to reach record highs, which obviously impacts people’s 401(k)s and retirement accounts. Two, from a housing standpoint, we’ve been able to bring down interest rates on mortgages.”
