In a recent interview with GQ, Sydney Sweeney reacted to endorsements from President Trump and VP JD Vance after her controversial “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans” American Eagle ad. The actress, a registered Republican, remarked that these comments were “surreal” and debunked false rumors of a sales decline.
In his comments, President Trump said she was “fantastic” and expressed an appreciation for her. Likewise, Vance mocked Democrats for labeling admirers Nazis, calling it a self-inflicted wound post-2024 election, and made other insightful comments.
In any case, after her party affiliation was revealed, President Donald Trump said, “She’s a registered Republican?” adding, “Oh, now I love her ad.” Similarly, Vice President JD Vance joked, “My political advice to the Democrats is: continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a Nazi.”
Describing her initial reaction, Sweeney was disgusted with the woke mob. “You have, like, a normal all-American beautiful girl doing like a normal jeans ad, right? They’re trying to sell, you know, sell jeans to kids in America and they have managed to so unhinge themselves over this thing. And it’s like, you guys, did you learn nothing from the November 2024 election?” she noted.
When an interviewer asked, “The president and the vice president spoke about the jeans ad. What was that like?” Sweeney gave an honest answer. “It was surreal,” she said, “I was aware of the numbers as it was going.”
Additionally, she addressed rumors that the campaign was hurting sales. “So when I saw all the headlines of in-store visits were down a certain percentage, none of it was true. It was all made up,” the A-lister said to the reporter.
Concluding her comments, the well-endowed actress declared, “I know who I am. I know what I value. I know that I’m a kind person. I know that I love a lot, and I know that I’m just excited to see what happens next. And so I don’t really let other people define who I am.”

In his initial comments, President Trump used her ad campaign as a way to attack woke culture. “Sydney Sweeney, a registered Republican, has the ‘HOTTEST’ ad out there. It’s for American Eagle, and the jeans are ‘flying off the shelves.’ Go get ‘em Sydney!” the president noted.
Building on this point, he compared these ads to preciouis woke campaigns, saying, “On the other side of the ledger, Jaguar did a stupid, and seriously WOKE advertisement, THAT IS A TOTAL DISASTER! The CEO just resigned in disgrace, and the company is in absolute turmoil. Who wants to buy a Jaguar after looking at that disgraceful ad?”
Continuing to list off examples of failed woke ads, he noted, “Shouldn’t they have learned a lesson from Bud Lite, which went Woke and essentially destroyed, in a short campaign, the Company. The market cap destruction has been unprecedented, with BILLIONS OF DOLLARS SO FOOLISHLY LOST.”
Wrapping up his comments, Trump built to an epic conclusion. “The tide has seriously turned — Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump stated.
