In the wake of President-elect Donald Trump’s landslide victory in the 2024 presidential election, many commentators have attempted to diagnose what went wrong with Vice President Kamala Harris’ failed presidential bid. Former NBA star and sports commentator Charles Barkley recently slammed the Harris campaign and its strategy of utilizing endorsements from woke entertainers.
According to Barkley, the Harris campaign and the Democratic Party had “no game plan,” which contributed to Trump’s decisive victory. He swept the swing states and took the popular vote. Barkley asserted that while millions of Americans were concerned about real issues such as the economy and rampant illegal immigration, the Harris campaign was shelling out millions of dollars for celebrities, such as Beyonce, to endorse the vice president.
“We still haven’t solved the immigration problem…never addressed inflation. Bringing all these stupid stars out to rally the vote, what was that? I love Beyoncé. That ain’t gonna make me vote a certain type of way…you guys lost because y’all stupid,” Barkley said during a podcast appearance on “The Steam Room” his co-host on NBA on TNT Ernie Johnson.
The former NBC player continued, placing the blame solely on the Democratic Party for not having a better strategy to address the concerns of Americans. “It’s all our faults for not having a game plan. We’re not having concerts and rallies. People want solutions, they want money in their pocket, they want the border secure,” he said.
However, unlike many detractors of Trump, Barkley wished the incoming president well. “I wish him nothing but the best, but we lost. And I just want to say this to the Democrats: I’m an Independent who voted Democratic. Do me this favor, shut the f— up. When you win, you get to say what you want to. When you lose you need to shut the hell up,” he said unapologetically. He added, “I don’t think everybody who voted for Trump is racist or whatever. I’m not a fan of the guy, but he’s the president. I’m gonna have to respect the office.”
The American Tribune previously reported on Kamala Harris’ disastrous rally in Houston, Texas, where her campaign reportedly paid $10 million dollars to Beyonce to make an appearance at the event, where she didn’t even deliver a performance. Reportedly, the angered many attendees who were expecting a concert from the pop star.
Conservative comedian and provocateur Alex Stein said, “The Kamala Harris rally in Houston, Texas, was absolutely insane. You saw Beyonce and Kelly Rowland walked out… and then after that, Camelot walks out, right? She gives him the hug, and everybody’s so mad because they’re like, What? Beyonce only spoke for three minutes. I thought, we’re gonna get a free concert. Wait, what? What’s going on? Wait, why is she hugging Kamala? I thought this was a concert. Oh, and then Kelly and Beyonce have a nice little moment, you know, reminiscing.”
Stein added, “And then everybody realizes it was a bait and switch, and they walk their butts out. As soon as Kamala got on that dang stage, everybody was pissed off, rightfully so. They duped us. they duped the entire city of Houston Texas 30,000 pissed off people right before an election, less than two weeks away. What is Kamala Harris, taking was a night to forget. I’ll tell you that much.”
