Speaking in a short video that he posted to his Instagram account on Tuesday, October 22, “Batman” star and formerly quite-liked actor Michael Keaton sounded off on those who support former President Donald Trump and billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk, ridiculing those who support politicians he claims think they are “stupid.”
In the video, Keaton was scathing in his reaction to Americans, particularly conservative Americans, who continue to support the two men as a Trump victory look much more likely headed into the upcoming November election. He expressed disbelief that such people support those who, he claimed, think they’re “stupid.”
Beginning the short video posted to Instagram, Keaton noted that it was directed toward those who are thinking about attending one of the Trump and Musk political rallies that are happening continuously as the election approaches. He said, “For some of you folks who uh – guys mostly, I guess – who are thinking about attending a rally with Musk and uh, Trump.”
Continuing, he claimed that both men secretly despise and have an extremely poor opinion of those who support them and support the Make America Great Again political agenda, saying that Musk and Trump think their supporters are “stupid” and “laugh at” them. He said, “They don’t really respect you, they laugh at you behind your back, they think you’re stupid.”
Building on that same point, the “Batman” and “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” actor went on to argue that neither man has anything in common with their supporters, and that they don’t want to “hang out,” as if that matters politically. He said, “They don’t want to hang out with you, they have nothing in common with you. They’re not your bros.”
Keaton then brought up the now-infamous quote in which Donald Trump, joking around, said that he could shoot someone and wouldn’t lose the support of his dedicated base. In that quote, the then-presidential hopeful said, “I could shoot somebody on 5th Avenue and they’d still vote for me.”
Freaking out about what Trump said, Keaton declared, “I’m telling you, when Trump – years ago, I guess – said, ‘I could shoot somebody on 5th Avenue and they’d still vote for me,’ basically what he’s saying in parentheses is, these people are so stupid, they’re so dumb, they’d still vote for me.” He added, “They have no respect for you, trust me.” Watch Keaton here:
Keaton is far from being the impartial observer that he presented himself as being in the short clip posted to Instagram. In fact, he recently starred in a Kamala Harris for President ad that was directed at voters in Western Pennsylvania, an advertisement that was published to YouTube around the time Keaton released his anti-Trump clip.
In that pro-Kamala Harris advertisement, the woke actor told viewers that the idea that Trump might be elected is “scary” and not just a potential, but pressing, issue for the middle class. He said, “This is getting really, really scary. And me? If he gets elected, chances are I’ll be okay. Middle class ain’t going to be okay. And if you’re young, you sho’ enough ain’t going to be okay. I’m telling you, it’s going to get bad.”
