A teenage girl student was reprimanded and called ‘despicable’ after she and a friend questioned a student who wanted to identify as a cat. The teacher then flipped out on the students who made the cat comment, causing a scene in front of the classroom and making potentially inappropriate comments directed towards the young students after they had simple some questions about a fellow student. That student identifies as a furry four-legged animal known to roll around in catnip and chase mice: a cat.
That incident occurred at Rye College, in the East Sussex area of England. There, a student asked, “How can you identify as a cat when you’re a girl” and the teacher nearly blew a gasket in their reprimanding, as reported by the Daily Caller. What happened next would have many parents upset; the student who asked the question and her friend were told they couldn’t come back to school and would face being reported to ‘senior leadership’ if they continued to question how the student identifies – even though they identified as a cat and the questions were legitimate.
Fortunately for the students, the conversation was recorded in a video. The video does not show the teacher or any of the students in the classroom, but the audio in it captured the conversation. The vitriol directed at the students by the teacher is enough to cause some parents to gasp, as the teacher was standing up for the student who identifies as a cat while scolding the other students for questioning how that is possible.
The incident began when student said: “If they want to identify as a cat or something, then they are genuinely unwell – crazy.” After this, the teacher went on a tirade against the students, daring them to respond and asking, “Where did you get this idea from that there are only two genders?”
The teacher then escalated the argument, saying, “Gender is not linked to the parts that you were born with, gender is about how you identify.” The girls disagreed and stated biological information about males and females in response.
The teacher was upset with that and lost it. “You are talking about the fact that cisgender is the norm, that you identify with the sexual organ you were born with, that’s basically what you’re saying, which is really despicable,” the teacher yelled at the girls.
As expected, many parents were upset at the situation, but Rye College appeared to stand by the student who identifies as a cat and told the Daily Caller that they “are committed to offering our pupils an inclusive education.” The video below may be funny to some, but if you’ll have to visit other sources if you want truly funny videos.
