The official X account for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) completely skewered a leftist user on the platform for spreading false information concerning actions that took place at a restaurant after they were accused of shutting down the business for having a “No ICE Welcome sign.” The post has since gone viral.
“Everything in this post is a lie (not shocking),” the ICE account said in their response to the video clip shared by the LongTimeHistory account on X. “ICE did not ‘shut down a restaurant.’ National Guard in Memphis used this location as a staging area. When crowds started to gather, MPD (Memphis Police Department) was called as a protective measure — ICE was embedded with MPD.”
“No enforcement actions were taken and no one attempted to enter the shop. Stop lying for clicks,” the post added. The situation began when a conflict erupted between law enforcement officers and liberal activists outside of Da Sammich Spot in Tennessee after a group of National Guard members was asked to vacate the premises.
According to a report from KFVS 12, the restaurant featured a sign that prohibited ICE agents from having access to the establishment. The report stated that footage shared by an activist at the scene showed the National Guard troops standing by the sidewalk after they were asked to leave the property before more reinforcements showed up.
Later, dozens of National Guard members and Memphis Safe Task Force members were witnessed at the scene. According to Memphis Interfaith Coalition for Action and Hope member Tyler Foster, the owner of the restaurant has been very vocal about his opposition to the Memphis Safe Task Force and attempted to make the case that the owner had the right to ask them to leave his property.
“He did not feel comfortable with them directly in front of his business. Their presence was very clear to people passing by, potential customers, so he just politely asked them to step away from his business,” Foster went on to say. “The fact that they brought in dozens of additional federal agents and MPD stood idly by and even facilitated the federal agents’ presence on the premises just shows that this is not about safety.”
After things simmered down, Memphis police threatened protesters with a disorderly conduct charge. The police were called and involved in the incident after the crowd of protesters started to show up on the scene. The owner of the Da Sammich Spot said that the community has supported him and his anti-ICE stance following the incident.

The comments on the video were mostly supportive of ICE and its efforts to crack down on illegal immigration. “Leftists spreading misinformation? Must be a day that ends in Y,” one user wrote. “The Democrats are panicking. They bet their entire future on illegals voting + filling up their donation coffers with the proceeds from fraud. Now that they have been busted, they see stopping ICE as necessary to keep their dream alive. Sick,” another said.
