According to recent reports, Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) has kept Nathaniel Davis, who has been described as an “antisemitic spiritual guru,” on her payroll, paying him well over six figures for security services. Davis has reportedly claimed to be 109 trillion years old and can allegedly summon tornados, among a variety of other supernatural acts.
Fox News reported that Bush’s campaign has directed over $137,000 in payments to Davis since 2020 for security services. Furthermore, Bush reportedly has had her husband, Cortney Merritts, on her campaign’s payroll, allocating $60,000 to him for security services last year. However, both Davis and Merritts lack a security license in the city of St. Louis or St. Louis County, Bush’s congressional district.
In light of this, there have been calls for the Federal Election Commission (FEC) to investigate Bush’s campaign finances. “Any time a member of Congress puts someone with a close personal relationship on the campaign payroll, increased scrutiny is necessary to ensure the legal standard has been met, which in this case are that the payments were for ‘bona fide services at a fair market value,'” said Kendra Arnold, Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT’s) executive director.
Arnold maintained that the circumstances regarding the payments to her husband raise “red flags” and should be looked into. “Both the fact that reportedly Bush’s husband isn’t licensed to provide security services for which he was paid, and that she was simultaneously paying large amounts to another company for the same services raise red flags that warrant an investigation by the FEC,” she said.
Footage was recently shared on YouTube by the Washington Free Beacon, showcasing Davis’ claims. “I’m a teacher…I’m gonna give you brand new knowledge as much as I can. I’m gonna teach you how to grow food, and if you want to learn something from the mystery schools, I’ll teach you about the mystery schools. I love Sufism…I love the Gnostic texts,” he said.
He continued, “So I stick to the mystical side of everything. Walk on water, that deal, that healing. Man, I don’t know how to walk on water yet, but that is a science, it’s called the science of levitation. It’s a simple science, too.” Davis further noted, “I was put on this planet to break the spell. One of the people put on this planet to break the spell…Not more. I’m not peaceful at all. You mess with me. I’m messing with you. I’m doing 10 times worse than what you did me. I might go give me a goat or something, give me a ram or something, put some blood on the altar as f*ck your whole family up.”
The security services provider to Cori Bush asserted, “You’re a Christian? I’m gonna take you to book of Psalms. I’ll show you how to knock a person make all their teeth fall out their mouth. The Book of Luke miners, most powerful book of magic in the Quran, the Book of Wisdom. That’s why it’s the Book of Wisdom. I got a sewer in there that make tornados laid out. That’s how I learned how to make tornados.”
