“Squad” Democrat Goes Ballistic Over “Cruel” Trump Decision to Attach Work Requirements to Food Stamps

In an epic meltdown captured live on air, Rep. Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) went ballistic after the Trump administration made the sensible decision to enact a work requirement for the SNAP welfare program. These remarks came as the funding for the controversial program ran out, as a consequence of a weeks-long government shutdown.

Fighting back, a White House spokesperson set the record straight and challenged Pressley’s over-the-top rhetoric. This statement made it clear that the Democrats are using the shutdown as a cynical tool to hold the American people hostage, and that includes the matter of food stamps.

In any case, Catherine Rampell, an MSNBC reporter, offered a tepid defence of Trump’s decision.”I guess one way to keep people from fraudulently claiming benefits is by making sure no one can claim benefits, no?” the journalist suggested.

Starting off her absurd rant, Rep. Ayanna Pressley listed off a series of lies about the Trump administration.  She alleged, “First and foremost, this is the most corrupt administration in history. And then they’re cruel enough to create work requirements for hungry people to get SNAP.”

Still not done, the entitled Democrat kept up her whining. “But for the last month, they have not shown up for work, and they’ve been on a taxpayer-funded vacation. You know, I’ve been in Congress seven years. I came in as a freshman in the 118th in the midst of a government shutdown, the first congressional class to come in the midst of a government shutdown. And we never left. We stayed working. We stayed negotiating because that’s what the American people deserve. It’s just shameful,” Pressley stated.

Fighting back against these baseless claims, a White House Spokesperson said, “President Trump has repeatedly made clear he wants the government reopened. Hardworking Americans are missing out on paychecks and benefits because Democrats have refused to reopen the government.”

Pointing out the true guilty party, the statement noted, “Despite the Democrats’ insistence on keeping the government shut down, President Trump has found ways to fund WIC, pay our troops, and mitigate Democrat pain in other ways, but eventually the Democrats’ decision will have consequences. Democrats could stop hurting the American people by reopening the government at any time.”

These comments align with those made by their president in a series of messages to Truth Social. “Our Government lawyers do not think we have the legal authority to pay SNAP with certain monies we have available, and now two Courts have issued conflicting opinions on what we can and cannot do,” Trump noted.

Building on this point, he took coyly a series of lies the Democrats have constantly repeated. He stated, “I do NOT want Americans to go hungry just because the Radical Democrats refuse to do the right thing and REOPEN THE GOVERNMENT.”

Concluding his announcement, the President said, “Therefore, I have instructed our lawyers to ask the Court to clarify how we can legally fund SNAP as soon as possible. It is already delayed enough due to the Democrats keeping the Government closed through the monthly payment date and, even if we get immediate guidance, it will unfortunately be delayed while States get the money out.”
