According to alleged insider reports, Sidney Sweeney could accompany Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the newest installment in the James Bond Series. Sources claim Taylor-Johnson will likely play the role of the British spy in the upcoming film.
Those familiar with the matter suggested Sweeney’s rise to stardom over the past few years could bode well for the critically acclaimed spy series. According to Liam Solomon, Head of Public Relations for Instant Casinos, “her star power could start the new Bond era off with a Box Office bang.”
“The breaking news of Aaron Taylor-Johnson close to signing on to be the next 007 has shifted the market for the other significant roles in the spy franchise,” Solomon said, noting the media attention the movie series has garnered amid the news.
Sweeney, 26, has starred in a number of different high-profile roles in films and TV shows over the past several years, where she has become a fan favorite. The actress boasts millions of followers across social media platforms, with nearly 19 million followers on Instagram.
Sweeney garnered attention through her acting in shows such as “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus,” later being cast in movies such as “immaculate” and “You.” Reports claim Sweeney’s traction with younger audiences could inject youthful interest in the classic James Bond series.
“Actress of the moment, Sydney Sweeney, is a new favourite to be cast as the ‘Bond Girl’. The American has signed on to play a pivotal role in the highly anticipated Euphoria season 3, airing in 2025, rumoured to be the same year Bond 26 will hit cinemas,” Solomon continued, adding more detail to the potential cast of the supposed new film.
Sweeney recently made headlines earlier this year while hosting Saturday Night Live, participating in several skits and giving a powerful monologue. Sweeney’s popularity is unlikely to wane anytime soon, especially if she lands a role in the Bond franchise. See footage from the actress’ SNL appearance below:
The American Tribune covered the breaking news that Aaron Taylor-Johnson could replace Daniel Craig in his long-held role of playing James Bond since 2006’s “Casino Royal.” According to sources familiar with the upcoming production of the new Bond film, Taylor-Johnson practically has the role if he is interested.
A source allegedly close to Eon Productions, the producer of the Bond movies, told the Sun.“Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back.” They added. “As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”
The rumors surrounding Johnson-Taylor’s selection to play James Bond were positively received by conservative fans of the classic Bond movies. There has been speculation in recent years that the franchise would take a turn to accommodate Hollywood’s ongoing agenda to promote diversity in casting.
Sky New Australia reported on the news suggesting that the British actor’s alleged pick for the role indicates that we are “past peak woke. “I think we’re now past peak work. Common Sense might be becoming more common. Maybe I’m a dreamer,” the Sky News host said.
