With Hunter Biden having finally been indicted on firearm charges related to his lying on a gun purchase form, is the DOJ actually aiming for justice, or is it aiming to use the situation to cover up the more objectionable aspects of Hunter’s career and what the Biden family was up to? According to 2024 hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy, the charges aren’t an attempt at justice, but rather a smokescreen meant to cover up the extent of the Biden Family’s misdeeds.
Such is what Vivek wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter), in which he said that the Biden family is using influence peddling to sell out America for its own financial gain, as shown by Hunter’s influence peddling operation when Joe Biden was VP.
Making that point, Vivek said, “Today’s indictment of Hunter Biden is a smokescreen. Don’t fall for it. This is a fig leaf designed to deflect attention away from the real problem: the Biden family is selling out U.S. foreign policy for their own family’s private financial gain. That’s really what’s wrong, and we must hold politicians in both major political parties when they use our foreign policy to enrich their family members.”
Continuing, he noted that the indictment came at what otherwise would have been an even worse optics moment for the Biden Administration, writing, “The impeachment inquiry initiated by the House against President Biden is a step in the right direction, but the public shouldn’t fall for the trick of diverting attention away from the true problem. It’s also no accident that today’s indictment comes at a moment when President Biden’s own popularity within the Democratic Party is cratering.”
He then made a prediction for the future, saying he thinks the Democrats will use the Biden scandals to push Biden out of the race so that he can be replaced with someone more popular. In his words: “I predict this is the first step for the Democrat Party managerial class to pressure Joe Biden out of the race. Biden will become a sacrificial pawn in service to the deep state that wants to keep power at all costs.”

Many commenters agreed with Vivek’s point that the Hunter investigation is meant to cover up Biden shenanigans. One commenter, for example, said, “It’s not just a slap on the wrist scenario. I think they’re bringing it to the forefront to obstruct other investigations. It would be an ongoing investigation to block turning over flight logs, laptop, DOJ/Secret Service docs, etc, for other inquiries. They will drag it ooooouuuttt.”
Similarly, another commenter claimed that the purpose is also to try and make it look like the rule of law is still around instead of a purely political system, saying, “Exactly. They’re trying to make it look like the law will be upheld, etc. Nonsense. This is a crime family. They should all be locked up based on RICO.”
According to the indictment of Hunter, “on or about October 12, 2018, in the District of Delaware, the defendant, Robert Hunter Biden, in connection with the acquisition of a firearm, that is, a Colt Cobra 38SPL Revolver with serial number RA 551363…knowingly made a false and fictitious written statement, intended and likely to deceive that dealer with respect to a fact material to the lawfulness of the sale of the firearm…in that the defendant, Robert Hunter Biden, provided a written statement on Form 4473 certifying he was not an unlawful user of, and addicted to, any stimulant, narcotic drug, and any other controlled substance, when in fact, as he knew, that statement was false and fictitious.“
