“Slopadopoulos”: Trump Sounds off on ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos During Hilarious Town Hall Segment, Explains His Huge Suit against ABC News [WATCH]

During the exclusive town hall event with Fox News, former President Donald Trump took a shot at ABC News’s George Stephanopoulos ahead of the September 10 presidential debate with Kamala Harris hosted by the network.  Trump joked about his height and his famous nickname for the actor, referring to him as “Slopodopoulos,” during the recent town hall.

Tensions have been high between Trump and Stephanopoulos, as the Republican presidential candidate recently launched a lawsuit against the ABC News anchor who repeatedly claimed Trump was “found liable for rape” in the case involving allegations from E. Jean Carroll.  The suit maintains that Stephanopoulos ignored that the case was civil, not criminal, and never determined that Trump was committed rape.

Trump began his remarks about ABC News, claiming, “They are the most dishonest network, the meanest, the nastiest.”  The former president further called out Stephanopoulos.  “But that was what I was presented with. I was presented with ABC, George Slopadopoulos, you know, and he’s a nasty guy, and yet he’s a nasty guy,” he said.

Continuing to rail against the ABC News personality, he said, “I’ve had him up to here,” raising his hand to his chest, seemingly mocking Stehpanopoulos’ height.  He added, “But let me tell you. Let me tell you, he’s a very, very bad kind of a guy. When I watched his interview of Joe Biden, it was like the softest interview I’ve ever seen. It was softer than the CNN interview of Kamala.”

The American Tribune recently reported on great news Donald Trump received regarding his lawsuit against ABC News over the false claims made on air.  The incident stems from an interview Stephanopoulos conducted with Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) in which he claimed a jury had determined that Trump had raped Carroll.

However, a Manhattan federal jury only ruled that Trump was liable for sexual abuse against Carroll.  US District Judge Cecilia Altonaga, an appointee of former President George W. Bush, recently allowed the case to proceed, noting that the semantics of Stephanopoulos’s comments warranted Trump’s lawsuit to continue, contradicting a previous ruling from  US Judge Lewis Kaplan.

Altonaga said, “New York has opted to separate out a crime of rape. Stephanopoulos’s statements dealt not with the public’s usage of that term, but the jury’s consideration of it during a formal legal proceeding.” The judge added that this case address “whether it is substantially true to say a jury (or juries) found (Trump) liable for rape by a jury despite the jury’s verdict expressly finding he was not liable for rape.”

She continued, “Judge Kaplan was reviewing a jury’s damages award. His analysis necessarily focused on what Carroll had and had not proved at trial, as well as the harm Carroll experienced from (Trump’s) abuse. There was no discussion of how to accurately report on the jury’s findings.”

“Stephanopoulos’s exchange with Mace lasted about ten minutes, during which Stephanopoulos stated ten times that a jury — or juries — had found Plaintiff liable for rape,” per Altonaga’s ruling. “In fact, of course, the Carroll II jury did not find (Trump) liable for rape under New York Penal Law; it was Judge Kaplan who determined that the jury’s verdict amounted to liability for rape.”
