Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin made a recent appearance on Fox News where he slammed New York Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul for her refusal to cooperate with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Hochul signed a bill into law earlier this year that prohibits state and local law enforcement officers from having agreements with ICE and other federal immigration enforcement agencies to assist in apprehending illegal aliens.
“Bill, first of all, she’s a liar because she knows that we targeted the 13,000 individuals that she let out of her prison since January 20th that were murderers, rapists, child pedophiles, drug bangers, drug traffickers, gang-affiliated individuals that had criminal records that she had let out. We targeted those. Those means that those are individuals that we had orders to go and pick up. She refused to allow those orders to be pushed down,” Mullin said.
He then slammed the governor for allowing dangerous criminal illegal aliens back on the streets where they can victimize more people. “She released them on their streets, and so Operation Rotten Apple was exactly what that is. She is destroying. She’s the rotten core in the batch of apples that is destroying the great state of New York,” he continued.
“And we’re simply trying to take these criminals back off the streets that should have never been released back on there because they have no legal right to be in America. But yet, she has put out orders not allowing local law enforcement to participate in the 287G program,” Mullin told Fox News. He then discussed how it seems as if she’s actively trying not to do what is needed to protect the residents of her state.
“She’s doing everything she can not to protect the right of law-abiding citizens, but to protect the rights of illegal criminals that are corrupting her own streets in her own state, and it’s happening not just in Buffalo, New York, not just in New York City, but because of the the criminal activity that she’s harboring inside her state is spilling out to other states surrounding it,” Mullin explained.
“So we focused on the center, as we like to say, we’re cutting the head of the snake off. That is what’s happening in in New York City because of the harboring of these criminals. We’re going after the worst of the worst, right to where they’re being protected, and that’s underneath her leadership,” the secretary concluded.
Users on social media platform X, where a clip of the interview was posted, mostly agreed with Mullin’s take on Hochul’s failure to properly handle the immigration crisis in New York. “Hochul is a puppet. Who is pulling her strings?” one user said. “The only thing she cares about is putting a rag on her head and pandering for terrorists. What a tw*t,” another user posted.

“It’s a vicious circle with these sanctuary city politicians. They say the best way to get rid of a bad politician is to VOTE them out. Then the “elected” make it hard to take out the illegals who vote them in so they keep getting elected. And round and round we go. Be tough,” someone else wrote. “Yet no arrests for traitor politicians breaking federal law. It is unlawful to harbor illegals but she gets a pass?” one user commented.
