Former Vice President Kamala Harris should be used to getting roasted, especially after her atrocious presidential campaign last year where she made a total fool of herself time and time again. Usually, when someone gets raked over the coals enough times, they do some healthy introspection, humble themselves, and take action to smooth over their rough spots. Not Harris.
The world’s leading verbal chef with a specialty in word salads stuck again in a viral video clip serving up another dish of hilarity with a dash of sad and pathetic sprinkled on top. In the clip, Harris tries to offer some words of inspiration to students at Howard University, but fails miserably, going on what appears to be a drunken ramble complete with ridiculous hand flourishes.
Harris kicks things off by raising her hands up like a proud inebriated wine mom and gushing about how proud she is of the students she’s addressing. Imagine a drunk mother at a family barbecue making a scene about a child who got a good report card and you have an idea how this went down. Though she was almost certainly sober, the jokes about it were quite funny, and really added some flavor to what went down.
“I am so proud of all of you,” the former vice president said, using a tone of voice that seems more suited for a group of pre-schoolers who went a whole day without eating glue. “You know how, how, how privileged I feel to have been educated at Howard University,” she continued.
The failed Democratic presidential candidate then went on to credit what she learned at Howard University for all of the accomplishments she’s earned from her time at the school. A list of which is not likely to be used on any sort of promotional material for potential students. “There is so much about everything I have achieved, and I’ve been the first to do many things because of being here when I was your age,” she said.
“Knowing that everything I’m being told and can feel, tells us we can do and be anything. That we expect you to be leaders locally, state wide, nationally and internationally,” Harris rambled on, the wine mom flourishes continuing.
“And especially at this period in time, I want you all to know that our country and our world needs you all. We need you. So you be strong. You feed these big brains of yours. You make friends, who by the way are going to be friends of yours for life,” Harris gushed. At this juncture in her motivational speech, it’s hard if not impossible to discern, what, exactly, her actual point is.

“And enjoy this,” she said, adding, “And know how special you are and how much we need you. That’s what I want for you. That’s I need from you. Alright?” The crowd of students erupts into enthusiastic approval of the ramble delivered by the former vice president.
Kalama then ended her comments saying, “Let’s go,” to which the students replied, “You know!” It didn’t take long for commenters on social media platforms like X to pick up on the gestures, demeanor, and sometimes borderline slur in Harris’ words and begin to pick her apart. The individual who shared the clip said, “She’s always drunk. America dodged a bullet.”
One commenter concurred, going on to write, “LOL! Kamala is always drunk!” Another noted that while America definitely did dodge a bullet by electing President Donald Trump instead of Harris, the former vice president, “Clearly [she] didn’t dodge the bottle of rum.” A third poked fun of Harris by putting a spin on her favorite catch phrase, saying, “What can be, unburdened by what has been.”
However, one of the best comments came from a user who said, “I’d drink too if I had no job and had to out in public in that outfit for no reason whatsoever.”
