“She Lied”: GOP Senator Brings the Receipts to Show Biden Censorship Head Lied to Congress Repeatedly [WATCH]

Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) demolished a Biden Administration bureaucrat by exposing her for the numerous lies she told Congress while defending the Democrats’ censorship plan. Jennifer Daskal, co-chair of Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board (DGB), was embarrassed to widespread applause for her blatant hypocrisy.

For context, the Disinformation Governance Board was a short-lived initiative by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, designed to counter so-called “disinformation,” which Democrats deemed a threat to national security. Nina Jankowicz led the board and drew widespread condemnation from conservatives.

In any case, the contentions May 20, 2025, interaction between the Senator and Daskal began with Schimtt asking the bureaucrat about her role. The senator said, “Did you have a role in picking Nina Jankowicz to be the executive director of the disinformation governance board?” Deflecting, Daskal noted that she was not involved in hiring.

Clearly frustrated, the Republican senator moved on. Continuing his questions, he asked, “Were you aware that she was going to become the executive director of the disinformation governance board?” In a tepid response, she replied, “I was aware.”

Turning up the heat on the feckless Daskl, Schmitt hammered away at the DGB. He declared, “Okay, in January 31, 2022, you authored a memo to Secretary Mayorkas asking him to sign off on the charter that you authored. In that charter, there’s a few things that you were trying to address to dispel as relates to misinformation or disinformation relating to the origins and effects of COVID-19.”

Firing away another pointed question, he said, “Is your position that it would have been appropriate for the government to work with social media companies to censor points of view that maybe COVID-19 originated in China?” Dodging the main point of the question, she said, “Senator, it’s my view that it’s not appropriate for the government to censor any points of view.”

This answer enraged Schmitt and he leveled an epic rebuke at the Biden official. He oratyed, “You were a part of the disinformation governance board of the United States of America. My contention is the Orwellian name of Ministry of Truth was already taken. So the disinformation governance board slid right in, and you were a big part of this.”

Still not done taking the DGB to task, he said, “I mean, he wrote the charter, and so I find it kind of rich that you’re here expressing concerns about First Amendment, concerns about anything. A federal district court judge said this was the biggest affront to the First Amendment in the history of the United States of America, this censorship enterprise that the Biden administration engaged in, and that you were a big part of.”

In his post’s caption, Sen. Schmitt said, “It is not appropriate for the government to censor any points of view.” “Literally, you were a part of the Disinformation Governance Board.” I don’t think this went as planned for the former co-chair of Biden’s Ministry of Truth…”

Reacting to the clip, Senator Eric Schmitt made a post on X. He stated, “🚨Biden’s Disinformation Governance Board was one of the darkest inventions of the Biden censorship regime. Today, I grilled DGB’s co-chair, Jennifer Daskal, on her assault on our freedom of speech. She lied. Under oath. Repeatedly. We have receipts. 🧵”
