A newly unearthed document has revealed that a senior Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) official pressured an intelligence analyst to sign off on the highly controversial 2017 Intelligence Community Assessment (ICA), which claimed that Russian interference swayed the 2016 election, by threatening to withhold a promotion.
For context, the brave analyst refused to endorse the unverified document, despite overwhelming pressure to align with the findings of the ICA, which prevented the Defense Intelligence Agency from endorsing the controversial document.
In any case, the controversial discussion began with a message from one of then-DNI James Clapper’s close friends who attempted to coerce the brave analyst. The associate said, “You need to trust me on this.”
Continuing to turn up the heat, the unnamed bureaucrat added, “There is reporting you are not allowed to see,” and “if you saw it, you would agree” with the ICA.
Still not done with the potentially illegal coercion, the deepstate actor said, “You need to TRUST ME on this,” and the stated analyst would “need to demonstrate [his] ability to ‘outgrow’” his decision only to endorse documents he’d actually read and approved. Laying out the situation clearly, Clapper’s associate said, “I need you to say you agree with these judgments, so that DIA will go along with them.”
Reacting to the situation, the patriotic analyst explained, “I remember this conversation very clearly,” and “it was a difficult situation and I listened, and chose my responses, with care.” Speaking even more explicitly, he said, “I was aware that I was defying the [National Intelligence Officer’s] direction to me (to misrepresent my views to DIA) based on a conscious decision to adhere to IC standards, tradecraft, and ethics.”
As we reported, the public has recently discovered breaking news about the depths of the Russiagate scandal. DNI director Tulsi Gabbard revealed a “treasonous” plot from the Obama administration to promote the Trump-Russia collusion narrative, even though they knew it was untrue.
Announcing the new documents, Gabbard revealed, “Americans will finally learn the truth,” and said, “These documents detail a treasonous conspiracy by officials at the highest levels of the Obama White House to subvert the will of the American people and try to usurp the President from fulfilling his mandate.”

Describing the significance of this plot, the DNI added, “This betrayal concerns every American. The integrity of our democratic republic demands that every person involved be investigated and brought to justice to prevent this from ever happening again.”
Concluding her remarks with a powerful promise, Tulsi Gabbard promised that a cover-up of this magnitude will never happen again. The DNI said, “No matter how powerful, every person involved in this conspiracy must be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, to ensure nothing like this ever happens again. The American people’s faith and trust in our democratic republic, and therefore the future of our nation, depend on it.”
Adding another perspective, Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR),” pondered the damage done to the reputation of our intelligence community. Cotton declared, “It will take decades for the Intelligence Community to recover from the damage done during the Obama and Biden presidencies. These partisan democrats were desperate to defeat and undermine President Trump.”
