Senator Exposes that the FBI Covered Up Deep State Contractor Lied to Congress about Russia Hoax, Could Face Charges

It looks like Republicans might finally hold the Deep State hack and Fusion GPS contractor Nellie Ohr accountable for having lied to Congress about her role in the Russia Hoax that torpedoed the foreign policy of President Donald Trump in his first administration, as a recently declassified report has revealed her lies.

Such is what Sen. Chuck Grassley, the president pro tempore of the United States Senate and chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, announced in a press release about the matter in which he called out Ohr’s lies and indicated that he would use his power to ensure the FBI holds her accountable.

Beginning the press release, Sen. Grassley’s office noted that the FBI had internally confirmed she lied, yet didn’t release that critical information. It said, “The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Justice (DOJ) failed to prosecute Fusion GPS contractor Nellie Ohr for lying to Congress about her role in advancing the FBI and DOJ’s Crossfire Hurricane investigation, according to an internal FBI analysis confirming Ohr’s false congressional testimony.”

Continuing, the senator’s office went on to note that there were multiple federal statutes that Ohr violated and that there is “detailed evidence” that she did so, saying, “The 2019 FBI analysis, obtained by Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and declassified at the chairman’s request, provides detailed evidence Ohr lied to Congress during sworn testimony and, as a result, obstructed ongoing congressional investigations, violating federal statutes 18 U.S.C. § 1001 and 18 U.S.C § 1505.”

Adding to that, the office then revealed that the FBI had covered up what went on with Ohr, saying, “The document also exposes how the FBI prevented agents from reviewing all relevant information necessary to perform a full analysis of the extent of Ohr’s false testimony and her role in the fake Russia collusion investigation.”

Commenting on the situation himself, Sen. Grassley said that it is absurd that Ohr was able to get away with multiple felonies related to her having lied to Congress because the FBI failed to hold her accountable, saying, “By lying to Congress, Nellie Ohr showed contempt for congressional oversight and the American people. What’s more, the FBI and DOJ’s failure to hold Ohr accountable for appearing to commit multiple felonies and its obstructive conduct against agents that sought additional information reveals the agencies’ deeply disturbing political bias.”

Continuing, the senator emphasized that the lying Deep State agent had never faced any consequences for her obvious lies, saying, “Ohr never suffered consequences for advancing the phony Trump-Russia narrative and attempting to cover up her involvement in the hoax. Yet time and again, the American justice system has been weaponized against President Trump and his associates with reckless abandon.”

He added that the DOJ had added to the distrust the public feels in federal law enforcement in having not acted on the criminal referral, saying, “The DOJ’s inaction on Nellie Ohr’s criminal referral – despite the obviously incriminating evidence provided in the FBI’s own analysis – undermines public trust in the rule of law.”

Concluding, he applauded Trump’s appointees for trying to correct that, saying, “I applaud Director Patel, Attorney General Bondi and Deputy Attorney General Blanche for cooperating with my request to declassify this information, which is in the public’s interest, and chart a new course for transparency and accountability at the FBI and DOJ.”
