Sen. Mike Lee Slams Biden-Harris Admin for “Evil” Conviction of 89-year-old Pro-Life Activist

Rep. Mike Lee (R-UT) recently slammed the Biden-Harris administration over the prosecution and conviction of 89-year-old pro-life activist Eva Edl.  Earlier this week, Edl and six other pro-life activists were convicted in federal court on charges brought against them by the current administration, alleging they had violated the FACE Act and committed conspiracy against rights.

As background, Edl is a devout Christian who, as a child, was forced into a concentration camp by the Yugoslavian communist dictator Josip Broz Tito following World War II.  After this harrowing experience, Edl immigrated to the United States, where she pursued pro-life activism in line with her Christian faith, which teaches against abortion.

Lee took to X, writing, “Kamala Harris and Joe Biden are sending an elderly survivor of communist prison camps back to prison using the FACE Act against pro-lifers. Evil.”  The Utah Republican has repeatedly criticized the seeming weaponization of the FACE Act against pro-life activists who want to peacefully protest abortion.  Lee has previously introduced legislation in the Senate to repeal the law.

Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy also took to X, blasting the conviction of the pro-life activists for using their freedom of speech to protest peacefully. “89 year old woman who survived communist prison camp in Eastern Europe.. prosecuted by ⁦[Kamala Harris]  regime… convicted – faces up to 10 years in prison.  FOR PEACEFUL PROTEST OF ABORTION,” he posted on X.

Another user on X wrote, “Just our lovely bureaucracy at work exploiting laws to justify usurping our God given constitutional rights. I don’t know what specific loophole they’re exploiting in the face act, but I wonder if she has a case for appeal after the Chevron decision. She should definitely have one for a free speech issue, but we are not in a sane world anymore and I’m not sure that argument will hold in the lower courts, sadly. Regardless when Trump gets in he has to immediately pardon these people and Congress needs to repeal the face act.”

“Yet actual criminals are out r*ping, killing and stealing from stores to the point they are forced into bankruptcy or closing to escape certain crime ridden markets. Democrats in control will be the end of this country,” another person commented, highlighting the misalignment in the leftist priorities when in comes to law enforcement.

Another person called on Americans to unite and speak out against the deterioration in the nation’s traditional values.  “Anything that’s antigod, anti family or anti American or anti unity that’s what ppl should be protesting and speaking out against. Everything that made this country so great is being attacked and systematically dismantled,” they said.

One user offered hope that Trump will be reelected and fight the evil that plagues American society.  “I pray that President Donald Trump wins the White House and that Moral Republicans win the Congress back. Maybe this time they will give President Trump the teeth he needs to FIGHT! evil. Lock them up by the thousands, especially those who had a hand in any portion of this evil,” they wrote.
