As the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden gets going, more and more Republicans are looking to boost their credentials with the GOP base by saying that they are on the side of the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. Among them was Sen. Tom Cotton of Tennessee.
Sen. Cotton did so on X (formerly Twitter, saying that looking into President Joe Biden and his family is important because of what the evidence surrounding their conduct points toward their doing, which is selling access to then-Vice President, now-President Joe Biden.
He said, “.@JoeBiden lied repeatedly about his business dealings with Hunter, who has said “Pop” demanded “half” his shady, ill-gotten foreign income. He enabled Hunter to sell access to our enemies, including China. I commend @HouseGOP for digging into the potential for corruption.”

I commend @HouseGOP for digging into the potential for corruption.

In another post, Sen. Cotton defended the impeachment inquiry in response to a tweet from the AP, saying, “Hunter Biden said his father demanded half of his shady, ill-gotten foreign income.” The AP tweet which sparked his response said, “Since gaining the House majority, House Republicans have aggressively investigated Biden and his son, claiming without evidence that they engaged in an influence peddling scheme.”

Sen. Cotton wasn’t the only Republican politician to take to X to support the impeachment inquiry. Congressman Russell Fry, for example, said, “Unlike the Democrats, @HouseGOP has only followed the facts in our investigations. The facts have guided our way. Since the press won’t do their job and agencies (to this point) won’t do theirs, @JudiciaryGOP and @GOPoversight have led the way. The focus is much clearer and the evidence continues to mount against Biden. The Constitution prescribes a way to hold government officials accountable. The time for an impeachment inquiry is NOW!”
In another series of posts, Congressman Fry explained why the impeachment inquiry is necessary and grounded. Introducing the issue, he said, “THE CASE AGAINST JOE BIDEN 🚨@HouseGOP has officially launched an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. Here’s why 👇🏼”
Getting into the details, he said, “Mounting evidence from multiple sources shows that Joe Biden lied about his knowledge AND involvement in Hunter Biden and the Biden family’s business deals. He has denied this knowledge at least 16 times.”

He added, “An FD-1023 showed a conversation between a trusted FBI informant and an Ukrainian Burisma executive who claimed to have bribed Joe Biden when he was VP with $5 million. VP Biden used several pseudonym email accounts for official VP business. Hunter Biden was copied on an email sent to one of these pseudonyms accounts that contained official business with the Ukrainian President.”
He then said, “Not to mention, the Biden family and associates have received $20+ million from foreign sources in FIVE countries. The Treasury Department has more than 150 transactions involving the Biden family and business associates flagged as suspicious activity by U.S. banks.”
Concluding and summarizing the need for the inquiry, he said, “An impeachment inquiry allows us to gather more evidence, build the case, and if needed — use our Constitutional power to hold Joe Biden accountable. Americans deserve answers and I am looking forward to being involved in @JudiciaryGOP and @GOPoversight’s further investigations.”
