Sanctuary State Caught Funneling Nearly $10 Billion in Taxapyer Dollars to Healthcare for Illegal Aliens

In an absurd case of woke ideology gone wrong, California Democrats, led by the Legislative Latino Caucus, have defended the staggering $11 billion deficit in Medi-Cal coverage for 1.6 million undocumented immigrants amid a $12 billion state deficit, refusing to rule out new taxes while criticizing Gov. Newsom’s proposed cuts.

For context, Sen. Gonzalez wants to avoid “vilifying” rhetoric, blaming immigrants for the massive debt. Sen. Menjivar blames low wages from businesses for driving enrollment. Republicans, via new Hispanic Caucus member Assemblyman Hoover, decry tax hikes as misplaced priorities, and odly enough gave props to Newsom for his fiscal restraint.

Incensed by the situation, a prominent conservative influencer said, “This year Gavin Newsom will spend 9.5 BILLION taxpayer dollars on healthcare for illegal immigrants. Next year that number will skyrocket to over 12 BILLION. Now the California democratic supermajority are considering new taxes to continue funding the program.”

In any case, local news reporter Ashley Zavala explains the situation. “These are things that are now being talked about here at the State Capitol, as some lawmakers try to continue providing health care to undocumented people at the scale that California has been as we’ve been reporting, state leaders ended up spending a lot more money than they thought they would on this program this year alone to cover 1.6 million undocumented people. California, taxpayers are spending about $11 billion the state next year is expecting to spend even more,” she explained.

Defending this absurd situation, State Sen. Lena Gonzalez, a democrat and the Leader of the Democratic Legislative Latino Caucus, whined about mean words. She complained, “The rhetoric, what they want you to believe, is that our community is at fault for the state’s deficit… We’ve got to assess everything, we’ve got to be reasonable about this approach… We have to stop the narrative on vilifying immigrants.”

Echoing this sentiment, State Sen. Carolina Menjivar (D-Van Nuys), refused to accept responsibility. “But it’s not [our community at fault]. Year after year, after year after year, entities and businesses are getting away with providing a less-than-livable wage, are getting away with forcing them into our state’s driven Medi-Cal program,” she alleged.

Even Republicans, such as Assemblyman Josh Hoover, another Member of the California Hispanic Legislative Caucus, were unhappy. “The idea they would even consider a tax increase to cover these services, I think just shows where California’s priorities are. The governor, to his credit, is trying to be a little more responsible… We have to pass a responsible budget and what’s going to help Latinos and Californians in general is making sure we’re staying within our limits on spending, “Hoover said.

Reacting to this situation, conservatives were unhappy in the comments section. “California Gov Gavin Newsom and his super-majority Democrat legislature seem intent on driving the states to financial ruin. Healthcare for illegal aliens is more important to the Democrats than their own citizens,” one user said.
