Ryan Reynolds warmed hearts all around the world when he took the time to wish his co-star Anna Faris a Happy Birthday. The star of “Deadpool” took to social media to show off his friendship with Faris and to wish her a happy 47th birthday as the two continue to work together to make people laugh in theaters and on their couches at home.
In his Instagram story, Reynolds heaped massive praise on Faris as he explained that she is one of the best comedic actors in the world. He said, “A tad late… One of the funniest people I’ve ever worked with. Happy birthday, @annafaris.” The caption sat beneath a photo of the pair standing side by side in a friendly embrace.
Reynolds and Faris co-starred in the hit movie “Just Friends” at a time when both of their careers were beginning to take off. That film served as a launching pad for both actors’ careers as they are now mainstays in the Hollywood comedy scene.
The pair’s on-screen rapport has not been explored much further after the 2005 flick, but in 2016 Faris remarked on the enjoyment that she felt when acting alongside Reynolds many years before.
She hilariously explained, “I have to tell you that acting with Ryan is like playing an incredibly intense game of ping pong.”
Faris continued, “When he locks eyes with you during a scene, you know he’s going to challenge you in every way, which is thrilling and terrifying and it also makes it a true joy because he is so brilliant and spontaneous and he expects the best out of his costars.”
Faris further remarked about her friend Reynolds, saying, “He is also a man of tremendous integrity, and he’s a brilliant leader, on and off set. But more importantly, he is an incredible husband, father and friend.”
Ryan Reynolds showed off some of that good parenting when his parent’s Halloween costumes seemed to be under attack from the organizers of the ongoing Hollywood writer’s strike. By speaking out against some policies aimed at reducing the pool of available Halloween costumes, he saved his kids’ ability to dress as they’d like to Trick’or’Treat.
Reynolds recently used his pull in Hollywood to save his children’s Halloween from the politics surrounding the writer’s strike that is taking Hollywood over. When the organization in charge of the strike attempted to tell people what they could and could not wear as Halloween costumes, Reynolds stepped in on behalf of his children.
He Tweeted, “look forward to screaming “scab” at my 8 year old all night. She’s not in the union but she needs to learn.”
After hearing one of its biggest stars take aim at the ridiculous policy, the organizer released a statement. It read, “SAG-AFTRA issued Halloween guidance in response to questions from content creators and members about how to support the strike during this festive season. This was meant to help them avoid promoting struck work, and it is the latest in a series of guidelines we have issued. It does not apply to anyone’s kids.”
