Rosie O’Donnell Tries to Torpedo the Trump Economy by Announcing One Week “Mass Blackout” Walkout of Work

In the latest round of bonkers leftist insanity, woke actress Rosie O’Donnell, the same one who fled to Ireland when President Trump was elected, took to Instagram to announce a one-week long “mass blackout” in which employees won’t show up to work so as to protest the Trump Administration and try to torpedo the Trump economy.

She made her announcement in a post in the early evening on Wednesday, October 22, not including a caption to the post and instead simply posting a picture that included some details for those who wish to engage in the “mass blackout” effort that O’Donnell and others hope will bring America to its knees.

The post, which had received nearly 50,000 likes and nearly 4,000 comments as of the time this article was written, began by claiming “WE’RE NOT ASKING. WE’RE SHUTTING IT DOWN.” It then said that those who are not asking will be acting via a “MASS BLACKOUT” that will last “NOVEMBER 25TH – DECEMBER 2ND”.

It then went on to provide some details of what is being called for, calling it an “economic blackout” protest and describing what economic activity will be boycotted. It said, “The largest economic blackout protest in U.S. history begins November 25th! – No Work – No Projects – No Spending – No Events – No Restaurants – No Restaurants NO BACKING OUT!!! Prepare for the IMPACT!”

Continuing, the post admitted that if people just buy things before and after the blackout, the effects will be essentiallly nill, and so asked people to try not to do that, except for small purchases from small businesses. It said, “To prevent “spike spending” before and after the BLACKOUT. we ask that all participants purchase goods needed from community-owned stores and markets leading up to and after the dates.”

Concluding, the post ignored that most big businesses are essentially lefitst in their actions and political donations, and noted that they are being pushed back against through this protest as well, saying, “This helps with sustained impact and keeps our money out of the mega businesses pockets.
COORDINATED NATIONAL PUSHBACK. MAXIMUM LOCAL IMPACT.”

Commenters were largely skeptical. One, for example, asked why local businesses aren’t being supported more generally, posting, “Or we could pledge to only spend at small independent businesses all week. And then the next week and forever. But one week is cool too.” Another noted, “That’s so nice of you to pay my rent and car note since my check will be short a week.”

Similarly, another noted that this would just hurt the little guy, saying, “This is great for people that are privileged enough to be able to do this. A lot of small biz will suffer with a week of no sales, myself included. Maybe not even be able to pay rent or employees with that much revenue loss.”

But, admittedly, some were enthusiastic. One such commenter said, “I can use a vacay .. I’m ready. Bring it on !! I’ve cancelled spotify n looking to switch to another phone carrier other than AT&T bcs Amazon n Att n Microsoft Google Bank of America, citizen Bank J.P. Morgan UPS n FedEx fund deportations. I’m stopping all their stuff among other stuff. I refuse to make these billionaires richer.”
