Controversy has emerged amid the Trump administration’s efforts to reveal the Epstein files, where allegations claim the FBI has hidden thousands of key pages related to the case. As President Trump has stepped back into office, Americans have urged the administration to declassify the files as a means of restoring trust and transparency in the federal government.
According to reports, Attorney General Pam Bondi recently wrote a letter to FBI Director Kash Patel, explaining that many documents had been withheld. “Before you came into office, I requested the full and complete files related to Jeffrey Epstein,” she stated. Bondi added that the pages “consisted primarily of flight logs, Epstein’s list of contacts, and a list of victims’ names and phone numbers.”
Moreover, a source within the FBI reportedly told Bondi that many documents had been withheld. “Late yesterday, I learned from a source that the FBI Field Office in New York was in possession of thousands of pages of documents related to the investigation and indictment of Epstein,” she further noted. “Despite my repeated requests, the FBI never disclosed the existence of these files.”
Blaze TV’s Liz Wheeler reported on the incident, writing on X, EXCLUSIVE: Late last night, after it was clear Attorney General Pam Bondi would be imminently releasing the Epstein files, a source notified Bondi that the SDNY is hiding more Epstein documents. Lots more. We’re talking evidentiary lists, names—those files are where the big names are—and recordings. The FBI hid this. Hid it from Bondi. Hid it from Kash Patel. Hid it from you. AG Bondi has now ordered all Epstein related content to be delivered to her so she can make it public.”
Republicans have demanded that the administration do more to unleash the hidden files to the public. “I nor the task force were given or reviewed the Epstein documents being released today… A NY Post story just revealed that the documents will simply be Epstein’s phonebook,” Rep. Anna Paulina Luna wrote on X. “THIS IS NOT WHAT WE OR THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ASKED FOR and a complete disappointment.
“GET US THE INFORMATION WE ASKED FOR!” the representative demanded. The news sparked commentary from users on social media, with many voicing critical opinions toward the FBI. One person suggested that a “rogue cell” within the agency is preventing the full dislosure. Jeff Younger weighed in on X, “So this is the catch. There is a rogue cell in the FBI.”
The American Tribune recently reported on comments from Rep. Luna outlining the Trump administration’s efforts to disclose the documents. “With the stroke of a pen, [President Trump] committed to declassifying the files concerning the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. A decision not just monumental, but pivotal.” Watch her below:

Commenting on the Epstein client list, she added, “The federal government has been hiding information from Americans for decades. We have spent years seeking information on the assassinations of President Kennedy, Senator Kennedy, Reverend King, and other government secrets without success. It is time to give Americans the answers they deserve, which is why I am honored to lead this bipartisan task force that seeks truth and transparency. We will also investigate UAPs/USOs, the Epstein client list, COVID-19 origins, and the 9/11 files. We will work alongside President Trump and his cabinet members to deliver truth to the American people. From this moment forward, we will restore trust through transparency.”
