Just weeks after resigning from her position as Chairwoman at the Republican National Committee (RNC), Ronna Romney McDaniel has reportedly joined NBC News as an on-air contributor, and will also appear on MSNBC. Many on the right were outraged that she would work for the leftist media, arguing it shows that she was always on the side of the Uniparty, as if she was MAGA-minded, she would not have gotten the job.
As background, McDaniel was replaced at the RNC by two individuals who now serve as co-chairs: former North Carolina Republican Party Chairman Michael Whatley and former President Donald Trump’s daughter-in-law Lara Trump, are the RNC co-chairs. McDaniel’s departure came amidst it being obvious that Trump will win the primary.
McDaniel announced her departure in a late-February statement, saying, “I have decided to step aside at our Spring Training on March 8 in Houston to allow our nominee to select a Chair of their choosing.” She continued, The RNC has historically undergone change once we have a nominee and it has always been my intention to honor that tradition.”
And now she is working for the leftist press. Such is what Mediaite reported, saying that a source informed it that McDaniel will make her debut on NBC’s “Meet the Press” with Kristen Welker on Sunday, March 24. Mediaite’s report added that she will also appear on far-left MSNBC for election coverage as the 2024 race heats up.
The New York Times originally reported on McDaniel’s new job. Doing so, it quoted an internal memo from NBC which it obtained in which NBC News’ Carrie Budoff Brown, the network’s political coverage chief, said, “It couldn’t be a more important moment to have a voice like Ronna’s on the team.” Brown added that McDaniel will provide “an insider’s perspective on national politics and the future of the Republican Party.”
Republicans, particularly those in the MAGA camp, were quick to react to the news of McDaniel’s new ob on X. Emerald Robinson, for example, accused McDaniel of being part of the Uniparty Swamp, as shown by her new gig, saying, “Ronna McDaniel has now joined NBC News because she was always a member of the uniparty cabal trying to sabotage Trump.”
Similarly, conservative commentator Tim Young wrote, “Ronna Romney McDaniel just got hired by NBC News… which was probably her entire goal when she was loading up on botox and losing every election as RNC chair.”
Also joining in wast TPUSA’s Charlie Kirk, who wrote, “Former Chair of the RNC, Ronna McDaniel has joined NBC News as its newest contributor, because of course. Congratulations to Ronna on the dream job she always wanted.”
McDaniel’s departure came after a storm of criticism directed her way. Vivek Ramaswamy, for example, said, “I’m sick and tired of this Republican Establishment that has made us a party of losers. Where is the accountability for years of losing: 2018, 2020, 2022 and now last night? I’m calling on @GOPChairwoman to resign tonight.”
