The RINOs and establishment Republicans have gone on the attack against some of the Cabinet picks for President-Elect Donald Trump. Particularly, his choice of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to head up Health and Human Services, a position he has angled for in the hope of reducing corruption in the healthcare sector and tackling America’s chronic disease epidemic, set former VP and committed Establishment Republican Mike Pence over the edge.
Pence, despite not having endorsed Trump in his race against abortion advocate Kamala Harris, used the abortion issue to attack both Trump and RFK Jr. Beginning, he said, “The Trump-Pence administration was unapologetically pro-life for our four years in office. There are hundreds of decisions made at HHS every day that either lead our nation toward a respect for life or away from it, and HHS under our administration always stood for life.”
Continuing, he said that the appointment of Mr. Kennedy, despite having nothing to do with abortion, should “concern” GOP voters. He said, “I believe the nomination of RFK Jr. to serve as Secretary of HHS is an abrupt departure from the pro-life record of our administration and should be deeply concerning to millions of Pro-Life Americans who have supported the Republican Party and our nominees for decades.”
He added, suggesting that Mr. Kennedy would use his position to push for more abortion access, “For the majority of his career, RFK Jr. has defended abortion on demand during all nine months of pregnancy, supports overturning the Dobbs decision and has called for legislation to codify Roe v Wade. If confirmed, RFK, Jr. would be the most pro-abortion Republican appointed secretary of HHS in modern history.”
Focusing yet more on the matter of the Trump Administration and the pro-life movement, Pence went on to clutch his pearls and state, “The pro-life movement has always looked to the Republican party to stand for life, to affirm an unborn child has a fundamental right to life which cannot be infringed.”
Concluding, he said that the Senate should reject President-elect Trump’s pick over the abortion matter, saying, “On behalf of tens of millions of pro-life Americans, | respectfully urge Senate Republicans to reject this nomination and give the American people a leader who will respect the sanctity of life as secretary of Health and Human Services.”
A commenter on the post said, ridiculing Pence over his myopic take and unwillingness to focus on the larger issues, “if @Mike_Pence is against it, i gotta be for it. Taking poisons and toxins out of our food supply is one of the most pro-life moves in our govt’s history. Being pro-life isnt just about abortion.”
Another added, “Agreed. Mike doesn’t seem to understand that RFK Jr [isn’t] going to be advancing abortions. That has been returned to the states and he is leaving it there. Bobby is all about health and honesty in the food and medical industries. Get over it Mike. You are not relevant to the American a people.”
