After Rep Nancy Mace (R-SC) filed a resolution to censure Rep Ilhan Omar (D-MN) for her unacceptable and petty remarks about slain conservative icon Charlie Kirk, fellow squad member Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez came to Omar’s defence by dismissing the move as “ridiculous.”
For context, Rep. Ilhan Omar went on a vile diatribe where she attacked Kirk and smeared him as a racist, and “full of s**t.” Reacting, Rep. Nancy Mace criticized her colleague, prompting a massive breakdown, which motivated Mace to sternly reconsider her initial resolution to advocate for the Democratic censure.
In any case, Coretez attacked the resolution, saying, “It’s ridiculous, like every single one of these things, every time a Republican in this house is offended, they file such a resolution, and we’re here as grown adults, here to legislate the material needs. I want to be helping veterans. I want to be helping schools. I want to be improving people’s health care. I’m not here to be fighting over whatever people’s like school yard they use one day.”
During her initial remarks, Omar described Kirk as “Someone who was willing to debate and downplay the death of George Floyd.” Continuing the woke diatribe, she whined that the beloved conservative “downplayed slavery and what Black people have gone through in this country by saying Juneteenth shouldn’t exist.”
Continuing these vile and inappropriate comments, the Minnesota Democrat said, “There are a lot of people who are out there talking about him just wanting to have a civil debate. There is nothing more effed up, you know, like, than to completely pretend that, you know, his words and actions have not been recorded and in existence for the last decade or so.”
Concluding her allegations by slamming those who came to Kirk’s defence, she claimed, “These people are full of s—. And it’s important for us to call them out while we feel anger and sadness, and have, you know, empathy, which Charlie said, ‘No, it shouldn’t exist,’ because that’s a newly created word or something.”
Coming to the defence of the murdered activist, Nancy Mace slammed the controversial Democrat in a post to social media, which said, “BREAKING: We’re filing a resolution to strip @Ilhan of her committee assignments after her disgraceful remarks on Charlie Kirk’s assassination.”

Trying to shift blame, Ilhan Omar said, “Fun fact: Nancy Mace is trying to censure me over comments I never said. Her res does not contain a single quote from me because she couldn’t find any. Unlike her, I have routinely condemned political violence, no matter the political ideology. This is all an attempt to push a false story so she can fundraise and boost her run for Governor.”
Refusing to let up the pressure, the courageous SC Republicans refused to back down and went on the attack, saying, “If you mock a political assassination and celebrate murder, you don’t get to keep your committee seat, you get consequences.”

Putting an end to the interaction, Mace took to social media to note, “We’ve filed a resolution to CENSURE Ilhan Omar and remove her from all committee assignments. Anyone who glorifies political violence will be held accountable. We will not look the other way.”
