Speaking in a bruiser of a press conference on Monday, May 12, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. went nuclear on socialist leftists like Sen. Bernie Sanders, noting that Trump had achieved what they had long claimed they wanted to do, but never did. As part of that, he hammered Congressional corruption.
As background, while Democrats have long claimed they want to lower drug prices, President Trump actually did so, as he announced in a Truth Social post on Sunday, May 11. In it, he said that the administration would be forcing pharmaceutical companies to sell drugs in America for the price they sell them abroad, writing, “For many years the World has wondered why Prescription Drugs and Pharmaceuticals in the United States States of America were SO MUCH HIGHER IN PRICE THAN THEY WERE IN ANY OTHER NATION, SOMETIMES BEING FIVE TO TEN TIMES MORE EXPENSIVE THAN THE SAME DRUG, MANUFACTURED IN THE EXACT SAME LABORATORY OR PLANT, BY THE SAME COMPANY??? It was always difficult to explain and very embarrassing because, in fact, there was no correct or rightful answer. The Pharmaceutical/Drug Companies would say, for years, that it was Research and Development Costs, and that all of these costs were, and would be, for no reason whatsoever, borne by the “suckers” of America, ALONE.”
He added, after explaining that campaign contributions wouldn’t get him to back down, “Prescription Drug and Pharmaceutical prices will be REDUCED, almost immediately, by 30% to 80%. They will rise throughout the World in order to equalize and, for the first time in many years, bring FAIRNESS TO AMERICA! I will be instituting a MOST FAVORED NATION’S POLICY whereby the United States will pay the same price as the Nation that pays the lowest price anywhere in the World. Our Country will finally be treated fairly, and our citizens Healthcare Costs will be reduced by numbers never even thought of before. Additionally, on top of everything else, the United States will save TRILLIONS OF DOLLARS. Thank you for your attention to this matter. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
It was in connection with that executive order that Mr. Kennedy went scorched earth on AOC and Bernie Sanders, saying that he actually did what the left long promised. Beginning, he said, “This was the fulcrum of Bernie Sanders’ runs for presidency, that he was going to eliminate this discrepancy between Europe and the United States. As it turns out, none of them were doing it.”
Continuing, RFK Jr. said that to the Democrats it was merely a promise, writing, “It’s one of these promises that politicians make to their constituents, knowing that they’ll never have to do it.” Explaining why they never took action, he noted, “Congress is controlled in so many ways by the pharmaceutical industry.”
The HHS Secretary then turned to slamming the pharmaceutical industry, noting that it spends “three times what the next-largest lobbyist spends on lobbying.” He added that, as a result of that lobbying, no one has taken action on the pharma issue, saying, “This was an issue that people talked about. Nobody wanted to do anything because it was radioactive. They knew you couldn’t get it by Congress.”
Contrasting Congressional cowardice with President Trump’s courage, he said, “We now have a president who is a man of his word, who has the courage.” He added that President Trump, as shown by this order, “can’t be bought, unlike most of the politicians in this country.”

Further praising the president for his strong action, he said, “And he is standing here for the American people. … There’s writers … who are saying that President Trump is on this side of the oligarchs. There has never been a president more willing to stand up to the oligarchs than President Donald Trump.”
Returning to roasting Bernie Sanders, he said, “I never thought that this would happen in my lifetime. I have a couple of kids who are Democrats, are big Bernie Sanders fans, and when I told them that this was going to happen, they had tears in their eyes. They thought, this is never going to happen in our lifetime. And we finally have a president who’s willing to stand up for the American people.”
