According to a recent report on the matter, 2024 presidential hopeful Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has decided to ditch the Democrats and, rather than try to defeat Joe Biden by overcoming the hurdles placed in his way by the DNC, will run as an independent in 2024.
The move comes alongside claims from Mr. Kennedy and his campaign that the DNC has adjusted the rules for 2024 to make it near-impossible for him, or another Biden challenger, to effectively campaign and win against President Joe Biden.
Exposing that, Mr. Kennedy claimed, “It’s pretty clear that the DNC does not want a primary. They, you know, I don’t want to say that they want a coordination, but that’s, I think that, that’s a fair way to put it actually. Um, they’re doing. They’re, they’re, essentially, they’re fixing the process so that it makes it almost impossible to have democracy function. It, they, they’re effectively disenfranchising the Democratic voters from, from having any choice in who becomes president, who becomes the Democratic nominee. So two of the things they’ve done today is they’ve moved the, the Iowa primary, they’ve made rules that if anybody campaigns in Iowa, or sets foot, any candidate sets foot in the state of Ohio, or sets foot in the state of New Hampshire, then none of the votes that are cast for that candidate will be, will be, tallied. In other words, any delegate that I went in, and New Hampshire, Iowa would go instead to the President. And, and now they’re trying to change it so that if I campaigned in New Hampshire, that none of the votes cast for me in Georgia will count. That’s significant because it’s hard to win the nomination without Georgia.”
Well, Mr, Kennedy has reportedly decided to not deal with that and run as an independent instead. Speaking to Mediaite on the matter, an insider of the Kennedy Campaign said that Mr. Kennedy is making the move because of how the DNC is trying to hamstring his campaign, saying, “Bobby feels that the DNC is changing the rules to exclude his candidacy so an independent run is the only way to go.”
On the other side of the aisle from left-leaning Mediaite, Trump ally Roger Stone made a similar point, saying in a post on X (formerly Twitter), “I predict #RFK abandons the rigged Democrat nominating process and runs as an Independent.”
Similarly, FNC’s Greg Gutfeld argued back in late July that RFK Jr. should maximize his election chances by running as a third party candidate. He said, “So, I mean, a lot of Republicans really do like him, but it’s probably because he you know, he could he could really hurt Joe.”
Continuing, Gutfeld added, “But the problem with the party and this is why I think he should run as a third party candidate because I do think he should, he would win, is because his party’s radical elements, what we call the woke, have embraced this fascist clampdown on language, which is what we were referring to.”
He then said, “If you have opinions that aren’t accepted by that group, they will come after you. They will try to destroy you. It’s one of the most substantial political and moral flips in history, recent history where the party that fueled the free speech movement is now fueling its opposite. It’s incredible. I mean, they talk about the banning of books and they can’t cite one, but they are constantly targeting people for speech, for language opinions all the time.“
