Report Reveals Woke LA Mayor, Leading Dem Candidate Is Being Sued by Her Own Brother Over Disastrously Bad Fire Response

Reports have emerged that Democratic Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass’ brother is filing a lawsuit against the city after he lost his home during the horrific Palisades fires in 2025. Kenneth Bass, along with his wife Cindy, filed the suit in May, stating that they suffered injuries from inhaling smoke, along with emotional distress, mental anguish, and annoyance.

The couple’s home was listed as a “total burn down” in official court documents. They were able to sell the property several months after the fire for $2 million. Bass’ office responded to the news breaking about the lawsuit by saying, “There’s nothing new here. Mayor Bass has spoken of her brother’s loss publicly since January of 2025.”

“Thousands of people are plaintiffs in this action, which names 18 public and private sector defendants. The City Attorney’s Office is responsible for defending the City and DWP in this lawsuit,” the mayor’s office said. Bass has faced significant criticism for how she handled the devastating fires. The Democratic mayor wasn’t even in the city when the fires broke out. Instead, she was attending a presidential inauguration in Ghana, Africa.

According to a report from The Daily Caller, Bass managed to easily pass through the Los Angeles mayoral primary, pulling in 34.3% of the vote and advancing to the November runoff. Radical left-wing socialist city councilwoman Nithya Raman was initially several points behind reality television star Spencer Pratt, an independent running as a Republican, on election night, but took second place after a bunch of mail-in ballots were counted, finishing with a total of 29%.

Pratt came in third with 25.5% of the vote, but was eliminated from the runoff in November, leaving the mayoral race between Bass and Raman. According to a report on the lawsuit from TMZ, the court filings put a bit of a damper on Bass’ defense of her administration’s response to the Palisades fires. In January 2025, Bass spoke of her brother’s loss, saying, “The loss that you’re going through, I share indirectly. It’s hit my family too.”

An individual commenting on The Daily Caller story, slammed Los Angeles voters, saying, “Oh, you intelligent, intelligent Angelinos… Now you have the luxury of re-electing an incompetent, token, do-nothing Mayor like Bass or a devout Communist Indian, Raman noodle… You made your bed – now you have to sleep in it – even if it is on the streets. Truly a huge bunch of unsalvageable morons living there.”

Another individual responded to that comment saying, “I keep warning, but fear warnings alone are not enough…. take heed before what they have done comes home to your state. California is a cautionary tale …. Democrats were allowed to abuse the Initiative Process to literally take control of the Election mechanisms so that they win no matter who votes for whom.”

Other comments on the post pondered whether Bass’ brother would be casting his ballot for her in November, given that her failed leadership contributed to the loss of his home and his injuries from the fire. One individual suggested he would be too afraid not to vote for her given her previous violent training with Castro’s communist regime.
