Lizzo, the pop star and singer most known for her pro-body positivity statements and messaging, was recently sued by a number of her backup singers for her behavior towards them. Specifically, they alleged in a lawsuit both that she body-shamed them and that she forced them to perform some disgusting sexual acts.
Though Lizzo denies the allegations, they’ve been a tremendous hit to her popularity, as most of that popularity stems around her being nice and pro-body positivity, so her alleged behavior towards her backup singers is distressing for people who liked her for that reason, or tolerated her and her antics because they didn’t want to wade into that culture war fight.
Well, since the spell has been undone, even though Lizzo hasn’t been found guilt of or liable for anything as of yet, the NFL is reportedly no longer considering Lizzo as halftime entertainment. Such is what the Daily Mail reported in ane exclusive report based on an anonymous source within the NFL.
According to the report in the Daily Mail about Lizzo and her new travails, that anonymous NFL insider said that “Talks of Lizzo being a part of the Halftime festivities, or performing the National Anthem, are dead now that she is surrounded by scandal.”
And it wasn’t just one source that spoke to the Daily Mail about the situation. Another did as well, saying that Lizzo and her publicists are having trouble dealing with the situation because it continues to grow. That insider said that Lizzo’s team is now “desperately trying to come up with a strategy to save her sinking ship.”
Continuing, the source went on to say that somehow figuring out how to right the sinking ship is all the more difficult because of the expanding scope of the problem, saying, “It is becoming more and more difficult with more people coming forth accusing her of extremely inappropriate acts.”
As reference, it isn’t just the original three backup dancers who filed the suit who are accusing Lizzo of sexual misconduct and other things. At least half a dozen more women have come forward with allegations of numerous things, as the lawyer who filed the lawsuit told Fox News Digital, saying, “Some of the claims we are reviewing involve allegations of a sexually charged environment and failure to pay employees and may be actionable, but it is too soon to say.”
In any case, the source then said that the situation probably means the end of Lizzo asa pop culture phenomenon, as she has no good way to deal with the situation. In that source’s reported words, “Lizzo has raked in a massive amount of money but her minute is pretty much up it seems and no one knows if she will be able to recover from this. If she speaks out, her statements are shredded. If she stays quiet, she is called a coward. Either way, it does not appear at this moment that she can recover from this.“
