Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) blasted the Biden administration and demanded answers from Defense Secretary Llyod Austin after the leaks by 21-year-old Jack Teixeira revealed the United States military had a presence on the ground in Ukraine despite the President’s insistence this was not the case.
“Nearly 100 special forces from Western countries, including more than a dozen Americans, have been operating on the ground in Ukraine, according to leaked classified documents,” Greene wrote in a scathing letter addressed to Austin. “These classified documents were allegedly leaked by Air National Guardsman Jack Teixeira, a 21-year-old member of the 102nd Intelligence Wing of Massachusetts.”
“It is apparent that Mr. Teixeira is a whistleblower exposing the corruption of the Biden Administration,” her statement continued. “From day one, Joe Biden has lied to the American people about the war in Ukraine.”
And Greene wasn’t done. She hammered the Biden administration’s outrageous spending on the year-long “proxy war” and then condemned the violative action of involving a troop presence abroad without Congressional authorization.
“His decision to send billions of dollars’ worth of weapons and aid to Ukraine has engaged the United States in a proxy war it cannot afford, jeopardized peace efforts, and pushed the United States to the brink of nuclear holocaust,” the Georgia Republican explained. “A US Troop presence in Ukraine was never authorized by Congress and demonstrates that Joe Biden is open to pursuing a broader conflict between two nuclear powers.”

As the DC Enquirer wrote, the discovery of boots on the ground was in direct contradiction to previous statements made by Biden. The leaked documents also called into question Ukraine’s actual combat preparedness as it continues its fight against the invading forces of Russia. DC Enquirer wrote:
As previously reported by the DC Enquirer, President Biden vowed that there would not be boots on the ground in Ukraine, however, the leaks show that 14 American special operations personnel are currently stationed there.
In addition to this, the leaks showed that Ukrainian air defense systems are substantially lacking ammunition thus allowing for Russian air superiority in the short term. In addition, the documents questioned the Ukrainian military’s ability to launch a planned offensive against Russia in the south. It declared that “enduring Ukrainian deficiencies in training and munitions supplies probably will strain progress and exacerbate casualties during the offensive.”
Fox News updated readers on the latest in Teixeira’s legal situation. On April 19th, the defense moved to delay their client’s detention hearing after previously waiving his right to a preliminary hearing. Fox provided this background on the Air National Guardsman, writing:
FBI agents arrested Teixeira at a home in North Dighton, Massachusetts, Thursday in connection with a trove of classified documents that have been leaked online in recent months.
Teixeira, who joined the Air National Guard in September 2019, held the highest level security clearance granted by the federal government for top-secret information, according to an internal Department of Defense email reviewed by Fox News.
Teixeira was most recently stationed at Otis Air National Guard Base as a member of the of 102nd Intelligence Wing. He was promoted to Airman 1st Class in July, according to the unit.
Fox added that “Attorney General Merrick Garland said Teixeira, 21, is being investigated for the ‘alleged unauthorized removal, retention and transmission of classified national defense information.’”
