Red State Police Force Makes Major Effort to Help ICE, Arrests Thousands Of Illegal Aliens in Sweeping Operation

Showing off his leadership and willingness to help further the Trump agenda in a major way, Gov. Ron DeSantis directed state and local police in Florida to assist federal immigration agencies through the 287(g) program and a new state law, which has already seen success, as Florida Highway Patrol and other officers have arrested over 6,200 illegal immigrants. This moves places Florida at the forefront of cooperation with the Trump administration’s mass-deportation effort.

Describing the move, Gov. DeSantis hailed the state as “leading” with proactive enforcement at every level. Critics, including attorneys, argue immigration enforcement is solely a federal duty and melted down in a totally impotent fashion.

Beginning his comments, Gov Ron DeSantis began, “I’m pleased to announce the successful completion of Operation Criminal Return. This was a joint operation between ICE as well as the state of Florida, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. We nabbed 230 criminal illegal aliens off the street.”

Hammering away at the Biden regime for having allowed the problem to grow so catastrophically, he said, “Some of these guys had committed offenses against children, sexual predators. These were people who, under the Biden administration, were allowed to just roam with no threat of serious deportation.”

DeSantis made it clear that this was no longer the case. “The times have changed. We have tremendous momentum in the state of Florida because of our leadership on being the number one state to support the Trump administration’s policies to take illegal aliens who are in our country, remove them, and send them back to their home country,” the Republican hero noted.

Concluding his comments, the Florida Governor declared, “So I want to thank everybody that’s been involved with this. The state of Florida is leading. We’re showing what can be done when you work collaboratively with the federal government on an issue that’s very, very important to so many people, not just here in Florida, but throughout the United States.”

In another remark, he kept up his strong support for ICE and securing the border. “In Florida, we have an enforceable duty to help and to be a part of the solution… There will be operations on the street. That’s how we’re getting these illegals,” DeSantis noted. Echoing these comments, FHP Sgt. Tony Kingery said, “In the past, we never dealt with it… we would just make a phone call to Border Patrol… We never really did anything enforcement-wise.”

Offering another view, FDLE Commissioner Mark Glass sang the praises of this decision.“In Florida, strong partnerships are vital to public safety, and our collaboration with ICE provides a model for the rest of the country as we continue to carry out the mission of President Trump and Governor DeSantis in removing dangerous criminal illegal aliens from our communities,” Glass proclaimed.

However, some woke activists were unsatisfied. Michelle Suskauer, a criminal defense attorney and former Florida Bar president, whined, “Ultimately, immigration enforcement is a federal responsibility. Deputizing local and state law enforcement for this role risks eroding public trust, particularly in immigrant communities who may grow fearful of engaging with police…”
