Recently, a far-left group of protestors converged on the home of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh on the 50th anniversary of the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling. The protestors gathered along the sidewalk outside of the Justice’s home in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
The gathering appears to have been organized by a far-left, pro-abortion group known as Our Rights DC. Allegedly, the group tweeted a poster inviting members to participate in the march within the neighborhoods of Justice Kavanaugh and Chief Justice John Roberts. The tweet further encouraged members to attend a fundraiser for the DC Abortion Fund.

Video taken at the scene by the Daily Signal reporter Mary Margaret Olohan shows the protestors carrying signs that read “our rights aren not up for debate”, “abortion saves lives”, and “abortion is healthcare”. The group chanted as they marched in the rain, shouting phrases such as “cut his time short, a rapist should not rule the court,” and “no privacy for us, no peace for you.”
Armed law enforcement officers could be seen outside Kavanaugh’s home, guarding the property. Federal law expressly forbids protesting “in or near” buildings that house judges, jurors, witnesses or court officers with the intent to influence them. Threats of violence are not a requirement to build a case that someone violated that statute.
This isn’t the first time Justice Kavanaugh has dealt with unrest outside his home. Following the leaked decision and eventual overturning of Roe v. Wade, protests occurred outside the homes of various conservative justices.
ABC7 News reported:
This is not the first time protests have hit close to home for Justice Kavanaugh. After the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022, protesters angrily chanted outside of Kavanaugh’s Maryland home. They did the same near the homes of Chief Justice John Roberts and Justice Amy Coney Barrett.
Additionally, a man allegedly attempted to assassinate Kavanaugh at his home. Nicholas John Roske from California now faces attempted murder charges. He has already pleaded not guilty.
Fox News also reported on Roske’s attempted assassination of Justice Kavanaugh:
Kavanaugh’s home has been the target of multiple protests in the past, which were sparked after a draft Supreme Court opinion was leaked indicating Roe v. Wade would be overturned. The unrest even led to an assassination attempt against Kavanaugh. Nicholas John Roske, 26, allegedly traveled from California to Maryland and showed up in Kavanaugh’s neighborhood in the early morning hours of June 8.
He was armed with a knife, pistol, ammunition, zip ties, pepper spray, duct tape and other items. He allegedly told police he was intending to use the items to kill the Supreme Court justice.
Roske told police he was upset over the leaked draft opinion on Roe v. Wade and also allegedly said that he believed the justice would loosen gun laws following the mass shooting at an elementary school in Uvalde, Texas.
Roske was stopped by U.S. Marshals after he called 911 and admitted he was planning to kill Kavanaugh.
Alongside the recent violent Antifa riots in Atlanta, the targeting of Supreme Court Justice’s homes illustrates how the left is becoming increasingly militant.
