In a striking irony, Ibraheem Samirah, the Palestinian-American former Virginia Democratic delegate who disrupted a 2019 Trump speech in Jamestown with signs reading “Deport Hate,” “Reunite My Family,” and “Go Back to Your Corrupted Home,” has been sentenced for defrauding a COVID relief program.
On October 30, 2025, the 34-year-old pleaded guilty to wire fraud, securing an $83,000 PPP loan for his dental practice with falsified payroll records claiming nonexistent employees. He received three years’ probation and must repay $88,000 in restitution, having funneled funds to personal use while serving in office.
Court documents reveal that Samirah was guilty of “a scheme to defraud Sonabank and the SBA [Small Business Association].” Additionally, the same source noted, “None of the four purported employees received funds from NHS prior to May 2020.”
Similarly, a federal court explained the details of the fraud. “[He] falsely represented that NHS paid four employees’ payroll in January 2020 and February 2020, when in truth and fact, NHS did not run payroll journals for those periods until May 2020, according to documents.
Trying to limit the damage of this sentence, Ibraheem Samirah issued a statement to local media. “I accepted the ‘Statement of Facts’ of the case, but the full story behind the facts is more complex than just the legal summary noted. I refuse to surrender to the Trump Justice Department’s political narrative that I lack integrity as a former progressive state legislator who directly stood up to his corruption,” he whined.
Still note done blaming the president for his own actions, the Demcorat said, “We are dealing with a corrupt President who has shut down the government, been convicted 34 times, is starving children in order to enrich his billionaire friends, has weaponized the Justice Department against James Comey and Letitia James, and is now targeting me over my unfortunate mistaken understanding of the PPP loan process as a 28 year old first-time small business owner in order to score political points.”
Additionally, the woke Virginia Democrat whined, he “ultimately used the large majority of PPP loan proceeds on dental office expenses, something the prosecution refused to add in the ‘Statement of Facts.’” It was unclear why that mattered.

Reacting to the news, a viral conservative post went viral. “BREAKING: Virginia Democrat Ibraheem Samirah, who heckled Trump’s speech, sentenced for COVID fraud scheme,” the message to social media read, with dozens of hilarious comments.
Underneath the viral post, conservatives mocked the entitled Democrat. “Democrats doing Democrat things. Is there a Democrat that exists that hasn’t done something illegal at this point? Every single day someone in the Democrat Party is getting indicted for fraud,” one user said.
Pointing out a familiar pattern, another declared, “So basically, almost every Democrat going after Trump also has allegations against them. Covid fraud, mortgage fraud, affairs…fake documents, fake investigations. The list goes on.” Agreeing, another read, “It appears all of the Trump haters are the ones breaking the law and doing unscrupulous things.”
For reference, the heckling incident involving Ibraheem Samirah occurred back in 2019, and took place in Jamestown, Virginia. Then-Virginia Delegate Ibraheem Samirah interrupted President Trump’s remarks in the town by chanting, “Mr. President, you cannot send us back.
