Elon Musk, for those who don’t keep up with his Twitter feed, has been going off recently. Whether letting Trump and Kanye back on the platform or calling out past Twitter leadership for censoring and silencing the Hunter Biden story, he has kept up the bull in a china shop act since taking over the bird app. And now he’s using his Twitter troll skills to go after Alex Vindman.
Specifically, Elon called out Vindman on Twitter for being both a “puppet & puppeteer”, questioning who is pulling “his strings” in a conversation about bots and spam on Twitter being used to push a particular viewpoint.
That conversation began when one account pointed out how many accounts are being used by Twitter to push the exact same narrative, saying:
BLEEP BLOOP KINDA WEIRD THAT @ELONMUSK GETS TO DECIDE HOW LIKE A HALF-BILLION PEOPLE COMMUNICATE BLEEP. WAY TOO MUCH POWER FOR ONE ERRATIC INDIVIDUAL TO WEILD, DON'T YOU THINK BLOOP? pic.twitter.com/IB4qfuTZM8

Replying, Elon said “They’re bots in human form” then added that “Note, spamming, whether done by a set of humans or bots is against ToS“.
Adding to that, Elon made his comment about Alex Vindman, one of the “bots in human form” included in the screenshot, saying “Vindman is both puppet & puppeteer. Question is who pulls his strings … ?”
Well, Vindman freaked out after Elon posted that, saying:
I’ll put my reputation up against yours any day. I’ve spent my entire adult life in service to my country. Upheld my oath to protect & defend this nation at great personal cost. You’ve demonstrated yourself to be a purveyor of hate and division. Let history be the judge.
Tesla stock is plummeting, Twitter is on the verge of insolvency, SpaceX succeeded in spite of you. You have a chance to salvage your legacy. Try this as your touchstone. Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless-Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. LeaDeRSHIP. #Armyvalues
On more thing. I urge you to checkout Post. It looks very promising and likely to outlive Twitter.
Summing up how many tired of his pearl-clutching and false appeals to patriotism while acting like a foreign agent and outright partisan feel, one account commented, on his post about “service,” “Which country have you served? Ukraine? Israel?”
Vindman is the Army officer that rose to national prominence when he testified before Congress during the Trump-Ukraine impeachment process. During the hearing Vindman was noted for his ridiculously melodramatic testimony. In his opening statement, for example, he said:
I also recognize that my simple act of appearing here today, just like the courage of my colleagues who have also truthfully testified before this committee, would not be tolerated in many places around the world. In Russia, my act of expressing concern to the chain of command in an official and private channel would have severe personal and professional repercussions, and offering public testimony involving the president would surely cost me my life. I’m grateful to my father for my father’s brave act of hope 40 years ago and for the privilege of being an American citizen and public servant, where I can live free of fear for mine and my family’s safety.
Dad, I’m sitting here today in the U.S. Capitol. Talking to our elected professionals is proof that you made the right decision 40 years ago to leave the Soviet Union and come here to the United States of America in search of a better life for our family. Do not worry. I will be fine for telling the truth.
His lawsuit against former President Trump’s allies was recently thrown out.
