Radical Democratic socialist Florida congressional candidate Oliver Larkin got smacked into the previous century in the primary race to become the Democratic Party nominee, losing to Jared Moskowitz, which is good news for Americans, as the policies that Larkin advocates for threaten the rights the country is founded on.
Larkin sat down for an interview on Fox News Channel’s The Big Weekend Show, where he was pressed by anchor Clay Travis about some of his far-left policies, including his horrific immigration policy that is essentially open borders. “Oliver, appreciate you coming on. Clay Travis here. You’re obviously very concerned with giving people as many benefits as possible, but you also want to abolish ICE,” Travis said.
“We’re 40 trillion dollars in debt. Presumably, a lot of the free tuition would potentially, under your plan, go to illegal immigrants. We know roughly there are at least 20 million people illegally in this country. Should there be borders? What would be too much illegal immigration for you? 50 million, 100 million?” Travis continued.
“You talked about Cuba. You talked about Nicaragua, Venezuela. Should we take all of Latin America inside of our borders? Where would you draw the line when it comes to who we should welcome in this country?” Travis asked Larkin. The now-failed congressional candidate opted to try and skirt the question and turn the topic of conversation to Iran and sanctions. Travis wouldn’t have it.
“I understand you want to talk about Iran and sanctions and everything else. But just pure numbers. What is a number where you, Oliver, in South Florida would say, ‘You know what? We’ve got too many people who aren’t citizens of the United States right now.’ It’s 20 million. Is that not enough? Would you do 50 million? Would you do 100 million?” Travis asked, holding Larkin’s feet to the proverbial fire.
“How many people do you think the United States should take in, and how many of them do you think we should provide free college for? What’s the number? When would you, Oliver, say, you know what, that’s too many?” Travis pressed. “I think that we should follow in the footsteps of Ronald Reagan’s immigration policy and grant amnesty to the millions of people that are living, working, and paying taxes,” Larkin responded.
“So you’re going to give 20 million currently in America illegally citizenship, but wouldn’t that incentivize hundreds of millions of more people to come into America? I’m just asking, when is the number that you, Oliver Larkin would say, ‘Hey, there are too many illegals coming in this country.’ Should we bring in all of Mexico? Should we bring in all of Venezuela?” Travis said, pressing Larkin harder for a concrete answer.

“Like, what is the number where you would say, ‘Hold on, this is getting a little bit too expensive for the 50% of Americans who actually pay federal income taxes to be paying?'” he asked the Democratic socialist. “I don’t expect we’re going to see much more immigration from Mexico when you think President Claudia would raise the minimum wage and increase home ownership,” Larkin replied.
Travis pushed back on that comment by asking Larkin why he thinks folks in Mexico will stop trying to gain access to the United States. “You think life in Mexico is so good that Mexicans are going to stop coming here?” he asked the failed candidate. “What I’m saying is that there are governments outside of the United States that are investing in their people,” he responded.
He then added, “I believe we need secure borders. That we have safe immigration –” Travis interrupted Larkin to ask him why he thinks people from other countries are so desperate to come into the United States. “You think Cuba has more civil rights than the United States? Why are people getting on floating rafts and risking their lives to get here if those countries are so well run?” Travis asked.
“Because Donald Trump has the Navy blockading the island of Cuba –” The co-hosts of the show immediately interrupted and started pushing back on his claims and his refusal to give a solid answer on the one simple question they asked him. Larkin continued to bark out typical left-wing talking points claiming that President Donald Trump is taking away people’s legal status by ending the Temporary Protected Status program for some immigrants. The interview ended there.
