Previously Deported Illegal Alien Charged with Slaying Six in California

A 53-year-old Mexican national with numerous previous deportations and convictions is now facing six murder counts after a DUI-related crash on September 7, 2025, in Napa County, California, that killed six passengers and injured another.

For context, Norberto Celerino has a history of cocaine possession and DUI charges, according to ICE. The agency criticized California’s sanctuary laws and cited this case as an example of the human costs.

The crash occurred when Celerino, allegedly drunk, slammed into a tree and killed Pedro Lopez Gomez, Fernando Silverio, Demetrio Celerino Francisco, Beymar Reynosa Rodriguez, Aaron Ruiz, and Loreto Ricardo Hernandez.

Offering more context, an ICE spokesperson said, “Beto Cerillo-Bialva … is a criminal alien from Mexico who first entered the United States in 1995. Since his first illegal entry, he has been arrested several times for possession of cocaine, multiple DUIs, and removed multiple times from the United States.”

Pivoting to so-called sanctuary laws, the spokesmen slammed woke states like California. “His continued disregard for the laws within the United States and California’s sanctuary laws has led to this tragic incident. Sanctuary laws continue to place the American public in danger and only protect the criminal aliens,” the statement read.

As we reported, the Trump Administration, most specifically Immigration Czar Tom Homan and Attorney General Pam Bondi, have gone to war with so-called sanctuary cities, making it clear that lawlessness will not be allowed under President Trump.

The remarks came after a savage attack on a CBP officer, shot in the line of duty. “I visited the officer last night, of course, he was heavily sedated, so I didn’t have words with him,” he said. “But I did talk to his family. They’re devastated. It’s just — it’s just a shock to the soul when you walk in and see that young man laying there,” Tom Homan explained.

Explaining exactly the issue with these far-left municipalities, the ICE official noted who really benefits from these policies, saying, “Every sanctuary city is unsafe. I’ll say it again. Sanctuary cities are sanctuaries for criminals.”

Describing the path forward, Homan promised to secure the border entirely. “I want to work very hard with Secretary Noem to keep President Trump’s promise and his commitment several weeks ago that sanctuary cities are now our priority. We’re going to flood the zone. You don’t want to let us in the jail to arrest a bad guy in the safety and security of a jail,” he noted.

Adding to his previous comments, he alleged, ‘You want to release him into the street when he makes it makes it unsafe for the community, makes it unsafe for the officer, makes it unsafe for the alien. So what we’re going to do when more agents in New York City to look for that bad guy so sanctuary cities get exactly what they don’t want, more agents in the community and more agents in the worksite.”

Concluding is comments, Homan declared. “If we can’t arrest that bad guy in the safety and security of county jail. Don’t rest him in the community, and we’ll arrest him in the jail, and we arrest him in the community. If he’s with others that are in the country illegally, they’re coming too. Sanctuary cities are sanctuaries for criminals.”
