President Donald Trump told Republican lawmakers at the Republican Members’ Issues Conference that five priorities would secure GOP midterm victories if passed: banning transgender mutilation surgery for children, requiring voter ID and citizenship verification, restricting mail-in ballots, and barring men from women’s sports. He called the agenda “the best of Trump” and the House’s top priority.
Trump said the SAVE America Act, which already passed the House, would “guarantee the midterms” by preventing cheating and meeting public demand. He expressed maximum confidence that delivering would yield overwhelming support on a 2024-style scale.
In any case, the president began his comments by saying, “All voters must show — the Act, voter ID. … No mail in ballots except for illness, disability, military or travel. … Then I added two more. These are best of, you know, best of. These are called best of Trump.”
“We should also add on to this bill. … no men in women’s sports. … no transgender mutilation of our children. … those five things, five things, voter ID, citizenship, mail-in ballots, no mail-in ballots, right? We don’t want men playing in women’s sports. … no transgender mutilation of our children,” he said to lay out the plan.
Still not done, Trump added, “It’ll guarantee the midterms. It’ll guarantee the midterms. If you don’t get it, big trouble. … Number one, they won’t be able to cheat. And number two, the people are demanding it. … you’ll win the midterms at levels that you can’t even believe. ”
“And you’re going to win every election for a long time until somebody really screws things up,” President Trump stated, “These are called ‘best of Trump.’ We should also add on to this bill. And so what I’ve asked Mike to do is to draw a new one with these few things added, and let’s go for the gold. Let’s not just get one, like voter ID. … This is the No. 1 priority.”
Tracking the betrayal from RINOs, a viral post on social media read, “🚨 BREAKING: Senate Leader John Thune announces the votes ARE NOT THERE for a talking filibuster to pass the SAVE America Act — AND he doubts the ability to pass the bill through reconciliation, which would require only a simple majority.”

“Trump mentioned convincing the 4-5 holdouts so this can get done yesterday THUNE: “The votes aren’t there for a talking filibuster, it’s just a reality.” On reconciliation: “Very, very difficult” and that “pieces” of the bill could be included — Thune tells Punchbowl,” the post added.
Wrapping up, the user pointed out, “A vote will likely still occur, but it needs 60 votes. This won’t go over well. That’s a fact.” In the comments, normal conservatives expressed their anger with Thune. “The senate wishes to maintain its power and refuses to do the will of the people What comes next?” a cynical user asked.
