In some awesome news for President-elect Donald Trump, the Cuban-majority town of Hialeah inside Miami has decided to re-designate one of its classic and vital streets after President-elect Donald Trump, who is generally well-liked by that community, won it in the 2024 election, and won Florida handily.
Kevin Marino Cabrera, Miami-Dade County Commissioner for District 6, posted about the awesome new road name on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “President Donald J. Trump Avenue is official in Miami-Dade County! Today, we ratified the City of Hialeah’s initiative to honor President Trump’s legacy of championing freedom and opportunity by co-designating Palm Avenue—a vital artery in our community—as ‘President Donald J. Trump Avenue.'”
Continuing, he noted that the area went strongly for President-elect Donald Trump in the election and that this is the way of remembering that, saying, “Miami-Dade County strongly supported President Trump during the election, and this designation serves as a lasting tribute to his leadership and vision for our nation.”
Responding, one commenter noted that this is a great way of honoring the president-elect, saying, “Renaming Palm Avenue to “President Donald J. Trump Avenue” is such a power move by Miami-Dade. It’s a testament to how deeply this community values Trump’s leadership and vision. Love seeing his legacy honored in such a meaningful way!”
Another commenter on the post said, noting that the area was handily in support of the president-elect this time around and that this is a great thing for the community, saying, “As a proud resident of Miami-Dade County, which enthusiastically voted to reelect President Trump by a landslide margin, we are HONORED!”
And, noting how great it is that the formerly very blue area had gone for Trump and renamed the avenue, saying, “Wow! That’s awesome! I never thought I’d see a county, that usually votes blue, name a street after one of the greatest conservative Presidents of all time – Donald J. Trump. And with a 9 to 1 vote!? The world is changing for the better every single day lately.”
Miami Mayor Esteban Bovo, commenting on the avenue name change on X, said, “The Miami-Dade County Commission has passed an item to rename Palm Avenue as President Donald J. Trump Avenue, commemorating the legacy of the 45th and 47th President of the United States. #AmericaFirst #HialeahFirst.”
Surprisingly, even some Democrats voted in favor of the street renaming. Amongst them was District 1 Commissioner Oliver G. Gilbert, III, who said that the meeting in which the rename was voted upon covered a number of issues. He said, in a statement to Fox News Digital, “While I understand the political interest in a street naming for the former President by the City of Hialeah, it was not the most consequential decision we made today, nor is it an issue central to why I was elected.”
Gilbert continued, in his statement on the matter to Fox News Digital, saying, “My focus remains on tackling the challenges that truly impact the lives of everyday residents.” He concluded, “Let’s prioritize progress over symbolism and keep working to create real opportunities for the people we serve. Let’s keep our eyes on the balls we can’t afford to drop.”
