Popular Restaurant Owned by Husband of Detested CBS News Host Raided by ICE in Illegal Immigration Sting

In a sudden victory for border security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement launched a daring raid on a number of Washington, DC restaurants, which are believed to have employed illegal immigrants. One of the restaurants raided by ICE was owned by the husband of CBS anchor Norah O’Donnell, leading many conservatives to question her integrity.

For context, Trump has promised to secure the border and end illegal immigration since he entered politics in 2015. In his second term, with the help of Immigration Czar Tom Homan, Trump has taken unprecedented steps to both end the flow of illegal immigrants and to deport criminal migrants in the nation.

Such was shown when Homa Bash, a reporter with FOX5 DC, took to X on May 6, 2025, to announce the raid. She said, “TODAY: ICE agents went into Chef Geoff’s restaurant in Northwest DC – reportedly asked to see I-9 forms from staff. Workers on edge. No one taken into custody.”

Adding additional details, Bash reported, “Just confirmed Millie’s on Massachusetts Ave in NW DC also had about 7 agents come in right after they opened this morning, asking to see I-9 forms. I’m told they had warrant signed by ICE agent but not judge. No one detained.”

Quoted in the same thread, woke DC Mayor Muriel Bowser condemned the actions of ICE. She said, “I have heard those reports. I’ve been getting them all morning. I am disturbed by them. It appears as though ICE is at restaurants, or even in neighborhoods & it doesn’t look like they’re targeting criminals.”

Reacting to the news, conservatives applauded the brave work of ICE in ending the illegal immigration crisis. One prominent user wrote, “CLOSED BORDER: It is illegal to hire an illegal alien. ICE has been raiding DC restaurants thought to employ illegals including one owned by the husband of CBS Norah O’Donnell. No one is above the law and the DOJ needs to start prosecuting business owners who exploit illegal workers.”

In the comments under the post, conservatives were overjoyed by the news. One such comment read, “Finally someone’s taking action against businesses that think they’re above the law. Time for Norah O’Donnell to explain why her husband’s restaurant was hiring illegals, and time for the DOJ to start holding them accountable! lmao!”

Adding to this point, some users called for more raids into other industries. A commenter asked, “Next, do construction sites and landscaping businesses. Tons of cash paid, no reporting it, so they can fly under the radar. The owners are fully aware that this is illegal and my state legislature could care less. @NancyMace”

Rounding out the comments, one conservative used the event to reveal a broader truth about the Democrats. The comment read, “It’s so telling that the Left is so passionately concerned with guarding the wellbeing of foreign invaders when they pass by the American people who downtrodden every single day. They espouse this moral superiority but in no way practice what they pontificate. They’re all hysterically, hypocritically blind.”
