“Get Rid of Jessica!”: Tarlov Gets Caught in Big Lie on “The Five,” Gets Fact-Checked [WATCH]

Things took their usual turn for the explosive and entertaining on Fox News Channel’s “The Five” when the co-hosts had a major spat over the issue of if Roman Catholics are allowed to support abortion. Greg Gutfeld claimed that Catholics could not do so, while Tarlov claimed otherwise, leading to Gutfeld fact-checking and eviscerating his usual sparring partner.

For reference, the Catholic Church tends to be in opposition to abortion, and has been more or less from the beginning of the Church. The Catechism of the Catholic Church states, “Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law.”

Gutfeld was pushing that perspective during a recent episode of “The Five,” arguing that abortion is a far worse thing than the former president’s moral shortcomings. Beginning, he said, “If you are a Catholic and you are upset about Donald Trump’s character and yet you are okay with voting for a person who wants abortion on demand, you’re worse. I’m sorry. You’re worse.”

Continuing, he said much the same thing, arguing, “And I’m not making, I’m just saying from the, from when you analyze the beliefs of a Catholic being pro life, you have no stance at all. If you are okay with abortion, you can’t, you can’t say, ‘oh, Trump has a lousy character.’ No, you got no character. You have none.”

That then led to Gutfeld and Tarlov sparring over the issue, with Gutfeld asking, “Can you be a practicing Catholic if you support abortion?” That infuriated Tarlov, who first snapped about Trump and his stance on the abortion issue, saying, “Well, he’s actually, he’s politically pro choice. He’s personally pro life.”

Continuing, she claimed that Catholics can be pro-abortion, saying, “And yes, you absolutely can be because it is a healthcare issue.” Gutfeld fired back, “I don’t think you can.” Tarlov, instead of addressing what he is theologically incorrect on, said, “You think a lot of things that I don’t agree with.”

Commenting on Jessica Tarlov’s incorrect claims, people said things like, “Greg Gutfeld is right. You cannot be Catholic and pro-abortion. The murder of a preborn child is not a healthcare issue” and “Seriously @JessicaTarlov is a moron. You absolutely CANNOT be Catholic and be pro-abortion. People take their religion seriously – it’s not just some talking point Jessica.”

Another said that Tarlov is so annoying as to make the show unwatchable, saying, “That’s why I won’t watch this show anymore. I absolutely cannot stand her voice or anything she has to say. And the truth of the matter is, you might be able to be Catholic and be pro-abortion, but you’re disobeying Catholicism by being so.”

In much the same vein, another commenter asked why FNC continues tolerating Tarlov’s nonsense and letting her remain on “The Five” as she annoys viewers with her leftist opinions, asking, “Why does Fox tolerate Tarlov? They have skewed so far off their original purpose, and quite frankly, she’s a witch.”
