Pete Hegseth Yanks Gen. Mark Milley’s Security Detail, Orders Investigation into His Conduct

In big news for those Americans who were infuriated by the behavior of General Mark Milley in the last days of the first Trump Administration, during which he covertly contacted military officials in the People’s Republic of China, without the approval or knowledge of then-President Donald Trump, Pete Hegseth has taken action against him.

Namely, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth yanked away the security detail of former Gen. Mark Milley, who, before his retirement, as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff for both Presidents Donald Trump and Joe Biden. The news about the taking away of the retired general’s security detail broke on Tuesday, January 28.

But it wasn’t just the security detail’s end that Gen. Milley now faces. In addition to yanking away the general’s security detail, Secretary of Defense Hegseth has ordered Gen. Milley’s portraits removed from Army halls, a major snub, and has ordered the Department of Defense’s acting inspector general to investigate Gen. Milley for allegedly “undermining the chain of command” during those waning days of the first Trump Administration.

Speaking about the matter on Tuesday during an appearance on FNC’s “Special Report,” Fox News Chief National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin said, Mediaite reports, “Secretary Hegseth has decided on his second day to immediately pull General Milley’s security detail though multiple threats on his life remain. [White House Press Secretary] Karoline Leavitt was asked today if the president would take responsibility if anything happened to those whose security he has pulled.”

Continuing, Griffin added, Mediaite also reported, “The president has said former government officials can’t have security forever. Hegseth also ordered a second Milley Army portrait removed from the army halls and ordered the new acting inspector general to conduct a review board to potentially strip General Milley of a star in retirement for, quote, “undermining the chain of command during President Donald Trump’s first term.” All highly unusual actions.”

Adding more details on the matter in a statement, Pentagon spokesman John Ullyot told Breitbart News, “The Secretary informed General Milley today that he is revoking the authorization for his security detail and suspending his security clearance as well. The Secretary has also directed the DoD IG to conduct an inquiry into the facts and circumstances surrounding Gen Milley’s conduct so that the Secretary may determine whether it is appropriate to reopen his military grade review determination.”

Commenting on the matter of Gen. Milley’s alleged conduct, namely his covert contacting of his counterparts in the People’s Liberation Army to say America was not planning on attacking China, and his repeated comments about Trump being a “fascist,” Trump Pentagon Chief of Staff Joe Kasper said in a statement, Breitbart News reports, “Undermining the chain of command is corrosive to our national security, and restoring accountability is a priority for the Defense Department under President Trump’s leadership.”

Milley, in addition to sneering about President Trump behind his back and covertly contacting the PRC and PLA, also refused to follow orders and bragged about it. As Breitbart News reports, he allegedly told his staff, “F-ck that shit. … I’ll just fight him,” and, “If they want to court-martial me, or put me in prison, have at it. … But I will fight from the inside.”
