Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly was one of many Americans to applaud First Lady Melania Trump for her stylish and elegant Inauguration Day outfit. Kelly commented on a video showing Trump and his wife arriving at St. John’s Church in Washington, D.C. to begin the Inauguration Day itinerary, praising Melania’s navy suit and hat.
However, Kelly called out Vogue Magazine, suggesting they would not feature the first lady because of political bias. She wrote on X, “Look at Melania Trump. The most elegant, stylish, beautiful First Lady ever. Will Vogue put her on the cover as they did Jill Biden & M Obama? Of course not, bc Anna Wintour hates Republicans so much she cannot stomach the thought of celebrating this perfect picture of class.”
Thousands of users poured into the comments section, echoing this praise of the first lady for her beauty and style. Another person said in agreement, “Melania is stunning!!! She just set off a new trend with that hat! Any designer who refuses to dress her is stupid. She is gorgeous, her body is perfect, exudes class. Anyone who says otherwise is insane.”
Applauding Vogue for recognizing Melania’s beauty another person wrote, “Vogue did create an article featuring her style online today. It’s a step forward. Let’s hope @voguemagazine will show unity, grace & choose to feature @MELANIATRUMP on the cover. Many of their readers supported this choice and hopefully Vogue will be elegant. @megynkelly.”
Another user pondered, “You have a great point about Melania Trump’s elegance and style, she indeed represents class and poise. Do you think Anna Wintour’s alleged bias against Republicans is a reflection of the broader media landscape or just a personal preference?” Vogue did write an article about Melania on Inauguration Day, but she was not featured on the cover.
However, when Kelly was not raving the first lady’s fashion sense during Trump’s inauguration, she was lambasting former President Joe Biden’s sweeping preemptive pardons for his family and political allies. Addressing the move on the January 20 episode of her SiriusXM radio show, Kelly explained that, despite the pardons, some could still face prosecution.
“Let’s go to the pardons because this is just egregious. Everybody under the sun, I mean, the J6 committee members, his entire family, right? Mark Milley and Dr. Fauci. By the way, the pardons go back, especially Fauci, go back to 2014,” she said, beginning her criticism of the legal move. Kelly added, “But there’s a question about whether it’s valid if they don’t accept. I mean, there’s a legal debate on whether you must say I accept. I think most lawyers say, yeah, you have to say I accept it in order for it to be valid for you.”

Kelly then pointed out the legal implications of accepting the pardon. “So that’s the silver lining. They all have to testify fully. They cannot plead the Fifth. By the way, it doesn’t stop any investigations whatsoever or civil lawsuits. You know what else it doesn’t stop? Or state lawsuits. State prosecutions. You can be prosecuted by the state, a federal pardon does not — that was Trump’s problem, remember?” she said.
