Attorney General Pam Bondi is facing heat from MAGA conservatives on X as the chaos and disorder in Minnesota drag on, with many contending that she and the Department of Justice (DOJ) she ostensibly leads are not doing enough to both suppress the disorder and target the “big fish” who are behind it, rather than just the footsoldiers.
It began with Newsmax host Todd Starnes demanding that AG Bondi stop just sending letters the way of Democrats the MAGA base is demanding she lock up, from corrupt government officials to leftist rioters, and start taking strong action. He began, “Who wants to tell AG Pam Bondi that the time for strongly-worded letters is long gone?”
He added, giving some suggestions of things that could be done and then demanding the words stop and strong actions against the left begin, “Declare an insurrection. Invoke the Insurrection Act and put down the rebellion. Not sure what’s going on in the White House these days. Something is off. Enough with words – it’s time for action.”
Bondi, for her part, responded in a quote tweet of Starnes in which she noted that some actions have already been taken, and much more is working its way through the machinery of the legal system. Beginning, she said, “The full weight of federal law enforcement is engaged in Minnesota and this Department of Justice is advancing action on every front.”
Giving some examples of what the DOJ has already done, she pointed to three main moves. First she noted that a slew of Walz-connected officials, along with the governor himself, have already been subpoenaed. Then she noted that a number of leftists involved in illegal activities have already been arrested.
She said, on those points, “Walz, Ellison and Frey have acknowledged receipt of federal grand jury subpoenas from this DOJ. We have arrested multiple individuals in the Cities Church attack and will continue to fight for our religious organizations. Today we arrested a man who violently assaulted an HSI agent.”
Concluding, she noted that more arrests are coming and the DOJ is working hard to tear down the judicial activism regime that has caused so many issues in Minnesota. She said, “More arrests are coming. Meanwhile, our attorneys are relentlessly fighting to defeat the unprecedented judicial activism unfolding in Minnesota. Accountability is coming. 🇺🇸”

Commenters on her post were largely unimpressed. One such commenter, for example, said, “Get off X. Accountability shouldn’t be “coming.” It should already be here. Getting the small fry while ignoring the big fish shows how weak the government truly is. I thought we were getting something different… Guess not.”
Another noted, on much the same point, “No, Todd is imploring the use of the full weight of the government by suggesting the president invokes the Insurrection Act to put down an insurrection. You’re saying ‘full weight’ while literally not using the full weight of the government to put down an insurrection. Do you see the difference?”
Still another echoed the sentiment of many, which was overall disappointment in the relative paucity of real action, saying, “Ma’am, we’re trying to hold the faith, but it’s getting harder and harder everyday. We voted for law and order, to date, it doesn’t seem like you’ve been focused on what we voted for. We know it takes time, but after a year, there should have been more movement. We’re disappointed”
