Oil And Gas Workers Association Gives Trump Huge Endorsement

Earlier this week, the Oil and Gas Workers Association gave a massive endorsement to former President Donald Trump, citing his favorable record toward the fossil fuels industry.  The endorsement comes just a day after Republican primary candidate Ron DeSantis announced his energy plan.

The Oil and Gas Workers Association is comprised of nearly 50,000 members who work in the oil and gas industry.  The organization demonstrated its unwavering support of Donald Trump while criticizing DeSantis and his stance on energy.

According to President of the Oil and Gas Workers Association Matt Coday, Ron DeSantis signals friendly sentiments toward the industry, but lacks the track record of the former Trump administration.  “Governor DeSantis says a lot of the right things, right, but his track record isn’t there,” Coday said.

Ron DeSantis recently unveiled his energy platform, centered around increasing oil and gas production to hit a target of $2 gasoline prices by 2025.  “I will ensure that this country does not have to rely on hostile nations for its energy needs ever again,” DeSantis said during a speech he gave in Midland, Texas.  However, Trump has attacked DeSantis on his alleged pro-energy stance. “He wanted to end it,‘Trump said, about DeSantis’ prior time in Congress.

“President Trump has been the most pro-American Oil & Gas Workers president ever, with 11.3 million jobs supported by our vital industry in 2019. Under President Trump’s leadership, our country became energy dominant. The booming economy of the Trump years benefitted every American,”  according to a statement obtained by the Daily Mail.

Coday further endorsed Trump’s record with the fossil fuel industry, citing a favorable environment where the United States became a dominant net exporter of fossil fuels to the world.  The Oil and Gas Workers Association president reminisced on the flourishing economy America enjoyed under Trump’s presidency.  He slammed Biden for the current state of the economy and his ambitions to phase out the oil and gas industry.

“Under President Trump’s administration, America became a net exporter, became energy dominant,” he said. “Our economy boomed and benefited every American. We don’t have that today with Joe Biden in the White House. His intent and and obviously actions to kill our oil and gas jobs. They hurt our economy and threaten our national security.”

During the Biden administration, the Strategic Petroleum Reserves has been drained on several occasions to dangerously low levels.  The American Tribune reported last year when the oil reserve hit its lowest levels since 1985.

“The scale of this release is unprecedented: the world has never had a release of oil reserves at this 1 million per day rate for this length of time.  This record release will provide a historic amount of supply to serve as a bridge until the end of the year when domestic production ramps up,” according to a statement from the White House.

“Joe Biden proves our point every time he releases from the Strategic Petroleum Reserves, that more oil equals lower gas prices. Unfortunately, for every American Joe Biden drained our Strategic Petroleum Reserves,” Coday said.
