“Obviously a Corruption of the Law”: Vivek and Elon Bash DA Bragg [WATCH]

With Trump’s trial in New York over the alleged “hush money” paid to Stormy Daniels, a case brought by DA Bragg, who claims that Trump incorrectly recorded the payment as a legal expense when it should have been recorded as a campaign contribution. The case has drawn much fire from the right, which alleges that it is politically motivated.

Among those who joined the fray as the trial began on Monday, April 15, were Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, both of whom ripped into DA Bragg for prosecuting Trump for the alleged payment to Daniels. Trump also sounded off on Truth Social about the case.

Vivek, posting about the matter on X, wrote, “Alvin Bragg‘s case against Trump rests on the ludicrous legal premise that a candidate must use *campaign* funds to make personal hush money payments. Yet if Trump had done that, they’d undoubtedly be going after him for that. This isn’t the pursuit of justice, it’s a political persecution that is tearing our country apart.”

Further, in that tweet, Vivek included a nearly three-minute clip in which Vivek sounded off on DA Bragg’s seemingly biased behavior, saying, “You have Alvin Bragg, a Manhattan DA who was elected on the promise of going after Donald Trump. For what crime, we have no idea, just the idea that they had to go after Donald Trump.”

Continuing, he said, “I think Trump is going to prevail. But most importantly, I hope we move beyond this phase of our history, where you have one political party that thinks it can use the legal system to prosecute its opponents.”

Elon responded to Vivek’s tweet about the case, arguing that the case DA Bragg is bringing against former President Donald Trump is not a good-faith effort to enforce the law, but rather a lawfare campaign representing “corruption of the law.” In his comment, Elon said, “This case is obviously a corruption of the law. Lawfare.” Responding to Elon, Vivek posted the infamous Beria quote, saying, “Show me the man, I’ll show you the crime.”

Trump, for his part, wrote, before the case began on Monday, “Just four years ago I was a very popular and successful President of the United States, getting more votes than any sitting President in history. Tomorrow morning I’ll be in Criminal Court, before a totally conflicted Judge, a Corrupt Prosecutor, a Legal System in CHAOS, a State being overrun by violent crime and corruption, and Crooked Joe Biden’s henchmen “Rigging the System” against his Political Opponent, ME! I will be fighting for myself but, much more importantly, I will be fighting for our Country. Election Interference like this has never happened in the USA before and, hopefully, will never happen again. We are now a Nation in serious Decline, a Failing Nation, but we will soon be a Great Nation Again. November 5th will be the most important day in the History of the United States. MAGA2024! SEE YOU TOMORROW.“
